Logan and Lucy were sitting on some logs they'd found while waiting on Liam. "I fucking hate this time of year" Lucy complained. "it's so dark and cold." She added, buttoning up her shirt.
"Well this is Scotland and it's March. Why are you in shorts?" Logan answered. He ignored her glare, knowing she didn't really mean it, and took off his hoodie. "Here." Logan said, handing the hoodie to her. She stopped glaring at him long enough to say 'thank you' and put it on. They spent the next few minutes sitting in silence, occasionally drinking from the bottles in their hands. The kid has been gone a while now. Maybe I should go and check on him. Logan thought to himself. He was just about to stand up when he heard footsteps coming towards them.
"You ok?" Logan asked when Liam came in to view. He looked pale, probably because he's just puked his guts up.
"Yeah, I'm ok now." Liam replied, taking a seat next to Logan.
"You don't look so good." Lucy pointed out.
"I'll be fine. Not like it's the first time I've been sick." Liam told her, taking the nearly empty bottle from Logan's hands. The other boy was about to protest, but he decided against it. This had nothing to do with the fact that Liam had already finished it before he got a chance to speak, obviously. Silence engulfed them again. But it appeared the female of the trio was chatty when drinking.
"Shouldn't you at least have a plaster on that?" Lucy asked, indicating to the cut on Logan's nose. Logan shrugged.
"It's fine. I've had worse."
"What happened anyway?" She continued to press him. Logan sighed and tilted his head back."Let's just say that I stole something. And it seems it's previous owner really wants it back." Logan replied."So he beat you up?" Logan chuckled a little at Liam's question.
"If it had been him, I wouldn't be to one covered in bruises. He sent his goons instead."
"Who did you steal from exactly." Lucy was getting slightly concerned now. Although she'd only known Logan for the best part of two hours, she still worried for his safety if these 'goons' where to come back.
"A prick." Was Logan's short reply to her question.
"You seem to steal a lot." Liam noted. "From that 'prick', the car. Don't tell me you've pick pocketed us." Liam started patting down his pockets, as if he'd lost something. Logan rolled his eyes.
"I haven't stolen from you guys."
"How did you get the keys off those girls in the first place." Lucy was starting to get curious about this boy and his stealing habit. Logan sighed, of all the strangers to pick up he just had to choose these two nosy ones.
"Girls don't pay enough attention to their bags when a guy at the bar is talking to them." Logan explained.
"You managed to hit on girls with that face?" Liam questioned. Lucy just laughed, while Logan looked like he was bout to punch him again. "N-No, I-I just meant that you look like you've been in a fight." Liam panicked.
"I've had lots of practice." Logan replied. He'd known exactly what the other boy had meant, he just liked seeing him flustered.
"You've been a thief for a while then?"
"Long enough." Logan didn't like where Liam's questions were going. He he cleared his throat before taking Lucy's bottle off her.
"What about you, Ms?" He asked, trying to move the conversation away from himself. "how come you were walking around in the middle of the night covered in blood?"Lucy hesitated for a few seconds. Should she really be telling these strangers that she basically committed manslaughter? However, her gut told her it was ok. Especially since Logan had already admitted to being a thief and Lucy suspected there was some gang crimes in his story too. She trusted these boys not to run to the cops.
"I work at this club, Veil."
"You work in a strip club? Seriously?" Liam asked, genuinely shocked. That was definitely not what he would have expected her to say. Logan was thinking the same thing, he was just more subtle about it.
"It's not a strip club. It's more of an escort club or a cabaret."
"Right cause that's so different." Liam argued back.
"Anyway." Logan interrupted, not wanting to start a fight. Lucy took a deep breath before continuing.
"Anyway, there's this one guy, he's been a regular for years. Comes in most nights, picks a different girl each time, bit of a slime bag. Like most nights he crossed the line. I tired to push him off me, but he's a big guy. Then finally I pushed him away but he must have slipped on something on the floor. The next thing I knew he was lying on the floor after he whacked his head off the unit."Logan put his hand on her shoulder, hoping it would help comfort her, at least a little. "What did you do?" Liam asked.
"The only thing I could think of. I ran out of the room got changed, ditched my uniform in the outside bin before getting the hell away from there."
"And that's when you ran into me?" Logan asked. Liam raised his eyebrows at this. He had assumed they knew each other before tonight.
"Well technically you nearly ran into me." Lucy joked."Nearly, ok? Nearly." She just laughed at him. Logan wasn't sure whether that was a good sign or not. Was she really not that traumatised by the whole thing? Or was she trying to hide how much it affected her?
Liam had just opened another bottle and handed it to Lucy when she realised something. They hadn't actually introduced themselves properly.
"Here we are telling you our deep secrets and you haven't even told us your name."
"Liam."
"Well, I'm Lucy and that's Logan." Logan just held raised his bottle when Lucy mentioned his name, rather than saying anything.
"Well I would say it's nice to meet you but.." Liam trailed off.
"But this is a bit of a weird situation." Logan finished for him.
"Speaking of weird." The two boys turned to Lucy "why did you just stand there earlier?" she asked. They both stopped mid drink. Logan had a bad feeling about the answer to that question.
"What do you mean?" Liam replied, even though he already knew.
"When Logan nearly hit you. You didn't even try to move out the way."
"What's it to you?"
"I'm just asking-"
"Well don't." Liam said in a harsh tone, before getting off the log and walking away. Lucy turned to Logan."It's not our place." He reminded her.

I know it's been way too long, I'm just really bad at this haha. Anyway I hope you enjoyed this chapter :)
Sorry it's shorter than the first two but I felt that's where it needed to end. Hopefully the next one will be longer, but I can't promise anything haha.
The song is Rooftop by N.Flying. I've been listening to them a lot recently.
