I take a deep breath as I review my work, realizing that I shouldn't have written that. I look back at Eros laying on the bed and carefully lowered the thin stacks of paper - that contained everything that I've been working on in the past two hours - in the paper shredder.
"Hey!"
I turn my gaze to properly look at him, then go back to writing as if nothing happened. I get two sentences into my introduction before he asks me if I'm alright. I bet I looked pained after writing all of that - It sure felt that way. I turn towards him and yawned a little.
"Just a little tired. I realized that after all my work on that, I had too many mistakes to edit and decided to throw the whole thing away."
He checks his phone, lets out a deep breath, and pouts. He's been doing that for the past hour, not to mention the six side-glances he's been giving me. He bites his lips as he turns to me, mouth gaping open and closed like a fish because he didn't know how to phrase what he wanted.
"What do you want?" I say, crossing my arms.
"I-I need to . . . buy more diapers a-and formula! We're almost out of them."
I sigh and tell him that he didn't need to lie in order for him to have some time for himself. I maybe added a slight motherly tone while I said it, but I covered it up pretty nicely by throwing a small pillow in his direction.
"I'm sorry, It's just that we're moving in less than a month and I wanted to spend some time with the few friends I managed to make. I wasn't lying, I was really going to buy them on my way home."
"The only thing you needed to do was ask! How long are you planning to stay?"
" Only for two hours, one hour for my friends and the other to buy the things - I promise. I'll even buy some snacks for your all-nighter."
" Okay . . . When you get back you also have to help me with my essay."
"Deal! Oh my God, I love you!"
He hugs me and then reaches down to kiss the small lump that was laying on the bed. I get off of my chair and lay down next to her after I closed the door. I look down at her and she gets cross-eyed trying to stay focused on me. She looks at me for another second before focusing on something else. I coo at her, trying to get her attention before talking.
"You can help me with my homework right? It's a autobiography . . . But I keep going into detail! What should I do?"
" . . . ."
I stand up and pace around the room before laying back down on the bed. "Look what school's doing to me! Why make us write half a book when it's summer and they're not even going to look through it?" I whined softly, trying not to startle the baby. I look at her and realize that her eyes were drooping but was trying to keep her focus on what I had to say - Just like Eros.
I softly poke the center of her hand and she grips it tightly with her strength. I take my other hand and pet her plump stomach while leaning close to her ear. I softly sing "I wonder what you're thinking in that little head of yours." I stand up, drape her body with a blanket, and go back to my desk to keep on working.

"Oh man, Pretty Thing! Who starts off an essay with 'Hello, my name is'? You're stupid ass does, that's who!"
I stand there gaping at my brother. " No cursing! It's an autobiography so you should think I'd start it how I want!"
Just as he promised, he came home exactly two hours later and was currently 'helping' me after he placed the baby in her crib. The crib was placed in a corner of his room because there wasn't enough place in our house for her to have her own - hence why we're moving.
"This is good-," He says while clearing his throat, interrupting my thoughts.
"' I have light caramel skin, light brown hair -'"He uses a girly voice while saying it, although it was kind-off embarrassing that his 'pretend' voice was better than mine.
"Why are you describing yourself? This isn't a modeling portfolio - you're supposed to be writing an essay, Aphro."
I tried to snatch it away from him but he stretched his arms further. "You said you were going to help me!" I said with a slight pout since I still couldn't reach my essay. Eros, however, was laughing so hard that he rolled off the bed.
"Ow! That hurt like a - "
I quickly take away my essay while giggling. "Get out!" I said as he stood up from the ground. He stayed put with his arms crossed while I half-try to push him towards the door.
"It's called 'constructive criticism'" He said as he picked up one of the bags by the bed, riffling through them. He pulled out various snacks - including my Junior Mints.
"Constructive criticism my axe, Get out and leave my Junior Mints!" He turned around and placed his hand on his hips.
"Why would I do that? I bought it for you!"
"Remember last time? When you took my last frozen Junior Mints? Huh?" As I said that sentence, his mouth dropped and his eyes widened in disbelief.
"It was one time, You're still mad about that? You told me you were over it already!"
"Uh huh, listen boy -"
"You're still mad at me? I repeat, you told me you were over it!"
"I-I lied. How can I forget if it gave me the same type of mental pain that you feel when you're just about to eat something and - just as it reaches to your lips - falls to the ground, knowing that those germs would eat it faster than you'd ever would."
I look away, playing with my fingers as I expressed what I really felt about the matter, Eros looking guilty.
"I didn't know you felt that way, I'm sorry for eating them."
I sigh, shaking my head. "It wasn't because you ate it. It was you left the empty box in the freezer - I was so disappointed in you, you couldn't even discard the evidence."
"I still bought you two of the big boxes after wards - even now, look!" He brings the boxes forward so I could see their actual size and then softly places them in my hands, blushing.
"I'm really, really sorry Pretty Thing" He pouts, looking straight into my eyes, asking for forgiveness.
"I forgive you but you know that, as a foodie, it didn't feel the same."
As Eros was about to say something, we heard someone clear their throats. We both turned around and straightened our posture when we realized that it was our Dad. We stayed quite, waiting for him to speak.
"If you two drama queens are finished with the movie scene, dinner's ready."
He left ,closing the door as we looked at each other, wondering how long he had stood there for.
