Falling for him?

I woke up before the siren went off, which was weird considering that I was someone who loved their sleep. I opened my eyes and looked at the face right in front of me. Squid. Just thinking about him makes me so happy.

If anyone would see me right now they would probably think that it was a weird sight to see. I mean I am laying on top of a guy who I hadn't even known for a week and now I'm like staring at his face.

I looked at his face fully. He looked so peaceful, not the playfully Squid that I saw every day. Then I went closer into detail. Looking at his eyelids first, knowing that behind them were those loving dark brown eyes that I have grown used too. Then I looked at his lips, I don't know what it was, but it felt like they were pulling me closer and closer.

I was only an inch away from them when suddenly the siren went off. I shot up out of my bed. What was I doing?! What was I about to do if it didn't go off at that moment.

While I was thinking all of this, the guys were all groaning about how they didn't want to wake up. "Princess? Did you just... Did you just get out of your cot alone? How? You're like the laziest out of us all." I just shrugged and asked them to turn around which they did. While changing I still couldn't get it out of my head. Was I about to kiss Squid? Why? Why would I kiss him? I mean yeah he has beautiful eyes, he's so thoughtful and always so caring,... Oh God. Am I falling for him?! No, I can't! My mom would kill me. No, she would first try to kill Squid so that I would suffer more.

Oh God, what am I gonna do? "Hey Princess, you almost done yet?" I just realized that the guys were still turned around and quickly got dressed.

We went to the library when everyone had gotten dressed. We all got our shovels and then went to grab some breakfast. While we were walking I just couldn't get it out of my head. Do I like Squid? We got to the digging spot of today and started.

I kept getting distracted and was zoning out the entire time. I wasn't even done with 1/4 of the hole! Oh God, this is not good, if I keep going on like this I'll be here the entire day. I grabbed my canteen and went to stand in line. I grabbed my cookie and went to my 'not yet really existing' hole. Suddenly Squid pulled me over to his hole, he said that there was a bit more shade in his hole because his was already halfway done.

"Hey, Princess?" Squid asked, "Yeah?" "What's on your mind, you're digging really slow today. If you're having nightmares again you can tell me." He had a worried look on his face so I did the first thing that came to my mind. I hugged him. The problem was that it was a bit hard to hug him from the side so I had to toss my leg over his lap and kinda straddle him. He immediately started to worry, " Princess? What's wrong? Please don't tell me that you're gonna cry?" I just laughed, sat up straight and said to him, "I'm okay Squid, I'm just happy to have someone who cares this much about me." When I said that he just hugged me. "I'm glad that you finally noticed" he said while chuckling a bit. We sat back up straight, but then I started to blush, finally realizing the way we were sitting. I think Squid noticed too, but he didn't get awkward, he actually placed his arms around my waist and pulled me closer.

He was looking into my eyes and I was looking into his, but then his eyes looked downwards to my lips and then back up. Was this actually happening? Are me and Squid gonna kiss? He leaned in a bit closer while looking into my eyes. Looking for anything, like me saying, 'kiss me' or me saying 'don't'. I did what my mind has been wanting me to do and I put my hands on his cheeks and kissed him. He was shocked at first, but then he relaxed and kissed me back. I felt like I was on top of the moon. I felt like I wasn't alone anymore. After a few seconds, I pulled back. I looked at his face and he had this goofy smile on it which made me giggle a bit. "What are you laughing about?" He asked while he was raising his eyebrows and smirking, suddenly he was on top of me and held my wrist above my head.
