Via woke on a cold and hard surface not knowing what had happened. She was very confused where am I? Who am I? I'm Via, but everything else...... Is............a...........blur.?Who were my parents? Her body quivered as if she had just been born. She lifted her head of the cold hard ground.
All around her people and other 'things' were shakily standing. Long necks of serpents, tufted ears of cats surrounding human faces, blobs of organic matter that was semi-transparent, tails, wings, and horns were not very uncommon in this hard dark place.
She observed her environment. Green vines dangled from the ceiling some touched the ground and snared some of the people. The main material that made up this chamber was granite. It was cut into giant stones that no human could lift. What is this place? She questioned. Spotting an arch she tried to walk towards it, but a large one-eyed man pushed her aside along with a small lizard man. The arch was very intricately GET with carvings of flowers and figures.
"GET OUT OF MY WAY!!!!! " bellowed the giant. Pushing his way through the crowd, he angered a few of the members, but he paid them no mind. A stubborn look was displayed upon his face to the mass of humans and creatures. He cracked his knuckles, Then walked into the arch. He waited as if expecting something. Silence fell among the people as the cyclops slowly made his way forward. Every eye turned to him. The only sound was that of wind whistling through crevices high in the chamber. He stepped almost through it before, falling upon him a giant spider bore its fangs, and sunk them into the eye-socket of the poor cyclops. Blood splattered the stones around the giant, as he fell.
Then it squealed in pleasure as it injected him with more venom. His skin became a pallid white. Slurping sounded through the chamber while the spider feasted upon the liquid flesh and organs. Many of the people cried out, some threw up. In the center of the chamber, below a great orange gem, mist appeared. Rescinding as fast as it had come, it uncovered the cyclops. His face was that of a child who lost all its family.
Via was truly dumbfounded by these events. The atmosphere was oppressive and some of the people were reverting to violence. "I need air," One cried. "Help us. " the mood was dark and forlorn "what happened?" "Where are we?"
These questions screamed in Via's ears. Her head started to hurt from all the sound. She crawled to a corner while a fight broke out. Tucking her legs up close to her body she started to cry. Everything around her was chaos.
looking up when she felt something wet on her neck, she stared at a human body crushed against the wall. "Stop it!" she whispered, lowering her head back to her knees.
All of the sudden hundreds of voices cut off in unison. The fighting stopped moments later. She looked up all the people were frozen except her their hands were at their sides. All aggression seemed to have left the crowd. No one moved as she walked up to a large dragon that was curled up by a column. When she touched the dragon great sobs echoed through the chamber.
Via covered her ears at the keening. She taped the dragon on the nose which did nothing so she hit it... Hard. "Ooooooooooooooo," it howled in pain. It jerked its head up and covered it with one of its paws. Its eyes shot open. Terror was in them and its tail twitched knocking over a couple of people who remained in their stiff positions. They looked like toy soldiers knocked over in a child's haist to get a cookie.
"Calm down!" via yelled at the top of her lungs at the dragon. Blood still trickled down her back making her very uncomfortable. The dragon who now had quieted looked at her intently. The fear that once was in her eyes turned to complacency.
The blood on via was now drying causing her shirt to stick to her back. The dragon said in a mellow tone "hello whats your name." Her voice sounds like a robot with no emotion. Via was wondering what had happened when all of a sudden hundreds of voices returned. The dragon fear doubled screamed using every vocal fold in its larnex.
