He was always around, never leaving her out of sight. Of course, she was strong and could easily handle herself without him, but he wouldn't risk her getting hurt. Her smile, her laugh, but also her tears and cries, all that and more belonged to him and only him. It wasn't love, nations aren't allowed to love. Sometimes he supsected that she did love him, but even if that's true, she wouldn't say a word. Her pride and the fact that she would be punished stopped her from doing so. Though, the face she made when her body couldn't decide wether to be overwhelmed by pain or pleasure, was something he was glad she only showed to him.

They weren't siblings, but at the same time, they weren't lovers either. In public, he would be the protecting brother and she the good little sister, but when they were alone their masks would fall. Her gentle attitude would disappear, together with the need to be polite. They could be theirselfes, never would they admit it, but they appreciated each others comany. Something bond them tohether that could not be cut so easily, but both of them knew, that the time would come when they would have to fight each other until death.

It would be so much easier if they were human, they would spend a live together and die. But this form of living is for eternity, and it gets lonlier with every year, living in constant fear of their own friends. She wasn't as strong as others, she could easily be run over by the armys of so called 'allies' when they felt like it, and he would be forced to watch. Everyone tries to protect themselfes, no one could be trusted, the friendship is fake. Even the most oblivious of them knew that and when it was needed, their smiles will fade just like hers.

Love is foolish in a world like this, he knew it, she did, but what they shared wasn't love.

It was something way more precious.

Trust.
