The Singularity theory

I'm back with another theory. So recently I watched a video where this girl analyzed Singularity and related it to Taekook (go check out the video)

while I was watching it I thought that she went too general with the lyrics and I wanted to go more in depth.

So here's my theory

WARNING TAEKOOK UP AHEAD

Theory:
So Namjoon specifically said that he wrote singularity for Tae. Taehyung also stated that this song is something relevant to his life therefore, the character he plays has nothing to do with it.

My theory is it is about his sexuality and his struggles with coming out.

Btw this is just for fun and I basically did it to piggyback on what she was saying.

Analyzing the lyrics:

A sound of something breaking
I awake from sleep
A sound full of unfamiliarity
Try to cover my ears but cant go to sleep

His realization that he might like a boy. Finding out/accepting your sexuality isn't easy. It's scary and hard to accept especially if you have these feeling out of nowhere.

The pain in my throat gets worse
Try to cover it
I dont have a voice
Today I hear that sound again

Denial. He's denying himself from what he truly feels. But it comes back and haunts him. Accepting your sexuality can be one of the hardest things ever. Especially if you're all about family like Taehyung is. You want to be accepted by those you love.

Its ringing again, that sound
A crack again on this frozen lake
I dumped myself into the lake
I buried my voice for you

Acceptance. He accepts that he's gay. He accepts that there's someone he likes that's a male. But be feels as if he's drowning because he still can't tell anyone in fear of rejection.

Over the winter lake I was thrown
A thick ice has formed
In the dream I shortly went into
My agonizing phantom pain is still the same

In Korea they aren't very accepting of the LGBT community. This could be him struggling to come out to his members. Feeling as though there's a barrier between them.

Have I lost myself

I suddenly run to the lake
There's my face in it

Is his sexuality a curse or a blessing? Yes, he's gained Jungkook but will he accept him? (A big stretch but I'm going off of the video here this could literally be someone else or just his sexuality in general) Will his members accept him? He feels stuck again.

He hides his feelings once more. Not wanting anyone to know that he's gay. However Namjoon found out. (Again sort of a stretch but it would kind of make sense, since he wrote it for him) He accepts him and makes the burden of Taehyung's sexuality become lighter. Making him feel as if there is hope to be accepted.

Tell me if my voice isnt real
If I shouldnt have thrown myself away

What I was supposed to do back then

He is looking for reassurance. Was his sexuality something he really should've been worried about? Is it normal to like other men? What he could've done differently in that situation.

This is just a theory!!! There are many plot holes to it but I tried my best with what I was given. And like I said beforehand, it doesn't have to be about Taekook, it could just be about his struggle with his sexuality. (Jungkook was added just for funzzies) Ight I'm going to go eat now bye! - Amy
