Sujeong is on her way to her family's gathering. The place for the gathering is located not too far from where her parents are staying. She was upset just a few minutes before, because her parents didn't even tell her they had arrived, even though she told them she was going to escort them to the hotel.
To make her let go of the matter, her parents rather asked her to do some toiletry shopping. It's a success though, because Sujeong is a bit calmer now, not ranting about how she could be a devoted child but her parents aren't letting her to.
She stops at a convenience store.
Browsing through the list her mom sent by text, Sujeong starts to explore the store to find each of them. It doesn't take long though, because she knows so well which brands she should buy. After ensuring that she has them all, she lined up in front of cashier counter. Upon reaching her purse, she realized she didn't have enough cash. She's glad her one and only debit card is inside. She hands over her card as soon as the cashier checked all her purchases.
To her startled, the cashier returned her card after she inputted her PIN number.
"I'm sorry, Miss. The payment could not be done, do you have cash or any other cards?" asked the cashier in charge.
"I... have no others. Can you try once again?" The cashier smiled and swipes her card again. She inputs her PIN number again, only to find the same notification.
"Still can't do?" The cashier nods slowly. She rushed to check her purse again hoping she could find some hidden cash to complete her payment. But she couldn't find much. It doesn't make the amount to pay. Sujeong is on panic because she doesn't have other payment instruments. Moreover, she can feel the gazes thrown to her from people who lined up behind her.
"I'm sorry but I do not have enough cash right now. Can you please try again?" She asked anxiously. The cashier is kind enough to try again. But as they already know, it wont do.
"Uum... should I just cancel this purchase?" That's it. That's the only way. But the cashier shakes her head.
"I'm sorry, Miss... you can't." Both Sujeong and the cashier look at each other, trying to find solution from each other. It doesn't last long though. Someone suddenly cut in line and put a bottle of soft drink into the counter.
"Please add this there."
"I'm sorry?" it was the cashier. She is confused of what to do, but then understand when that person hands over another debit card. Sujeong is frozen in disbelief. What is he doing here?
"Jangjun, what are you doing here?" Sujeong finally catches her soul again. His presence is beyond expectation. Who would think they would accidentally meet here like this?
"Same for you. Do you live around here?" Jangjun ask back after he inputted his PIN number. Sujeong shakes her head.
"Nope. Just running an errand for my parents." Seconds after they hear the cashier saying thanks for coming and all, and give them a bag with their purchased things. They throw a smile and walk together towards the exit.
They keep talking about the amazement to see each other. It was their first time going there and coincidentally meet old friend who just met again yesterday. What a small world, huh?
When they reach the exit door, Jangjun takes away his drink from the bag.
"So, do you have time for a chit-chat, or you've gotta go?" One of his hands is holding his drink while pointing at a small table few steps away from them, while the other is lifting the bag midair. He is definitely asking Sujeong to choose. Go to that table or take this and leave. Sujeong headed towards the table while smiling. She has some time to spare. Jangjun follows her behind and is smiling too. Widely.
