*3 weeks later*
Tris POV:
I've been back in school for the past three weeks, and to say it has been stressful is an understatement.Scholarship deadlines, making a budget, learning music for the upcoming choir concert; I'm in it up to my eyeballs.
Thankfully, it's Friday, and today midterms come out so I can see if putting myself through all this stress has been worth it so far. Even still, I have to keep up the (possibly) worthwhile effort for 6 more weeks.
I walk up to the school and head into the cafeteria, with butterflies in my stomach. I've been so on edge, I didn't even eat this morning. And I didn't eat dinner last night because I was working on my essay for a scholarship.
Oh well, no pain, no gain.
Sitting at the table with Christina, I smile and lay my head in my hand and sigh tiredly. I still haven't gotten time to apply to ASU and I have to get a Physical after school today for Cross Country track.
"Do you guys know whether midterms come out First Period or not?" Zeke
asks, with his arm still around Shauna."First period I think." Shauna replies.
The butterflies continue to swarm in my stomach as the bell rings.
Here we go.
Time Skip
I nervously drum my fingers against my desk as I wait for my midterm to get to me. Internally, I'm glad Mr. Wu waited until the end of class, but the nerves have also been gnawing away. Finally, Mr. Wu hands me my midterm and I sigh in relief. All A's.
Christina looks at me, and I feel sick to my stomach. That's the hunger.
The bell rings for AP English and I leave the classroom with nausea eating away at me.
Christina falls into step with me, and I try to walk faster, but my vision goes black at the edges. Chris grabs my wrist and I spin, but I immediately regret it and feel sicker.
"Tris, have you ate today?" Christina asks, a look of concern in her eyes.
I shake my head and reply, "I'm fine though. I just have so much to do, I don't have time to eat."
I disappear after that and head to Pre-Calculus with my stomach growling.
Throughout class, Ms. Waller talks and I can barely focus, but I still manage to do the small set of problems on the page so I won't have Pre-Cal to do tonight.
I walk out of class as quickly as I can to ignore the uneasiness I feel until I bump into Four and feel my vision go dangerously black.
All I see is Four's worried expression as I fall to the floor and finally fall unconscious.
