Nightpool POV
I sat in the club room, grooming through some of my favourite songs and trying to memorize the notes. I practiced a few on the piano before finally calling it a day.
The regular, human life, was something I had grown rather fond of. Homework, friendship, club activity, and learning new songs all held a sort of purity. They were simple and mundane tasks that most human children attending the school had becomes consumed by. I envied them.
The children had hard and traumatic times at school, this I knew, however to be able to even live through and be set back by such hardships was a privilege all on it's own.
Humanity was as disgusting as the world of gods, selfish and brutal. Power-hungry individuals constantly abused their power and slaughtered the innocent left and right.
To a typical high school student, this was not a concern. And that fact was their privilege.
Working with heaven in my early years of angelhood had broken me. The clear classist acts towards any and all demons scarred me after millennias of torture and murder. One would assume angels to be the pure, but the only pure aspect about them was the whites of their robes.
The gods were monsters who truly believed they were doing the right thing by exiling anyone who disagreed with them, capturing and harming innocent demons as bait for more dangerous ones, and controlling the minds of every angel born to them.
Humanity had no idea that these were the same gods they worshiped, and I alone could not change their minds.
What I could do was live amongst them, as I was now.
Away from Mala, Evil, as I called her, my twin. And the gods who commanded me.
They couldn't care less what I did, as they knew I wouldn't be a threat.
I, as the second most powerful angel employed by heaven, was tied to them with my life. Nothing I could do would allow them to kill me unless I become a demon.
I had tried, along with Mala, to become one. We had both only managed become dark angels without running the risk of dying, increasing our power and separating us from heaven's mind control.
Mala, who was once actually given my name, became Mala after the change. Her whole personality was revolved around heaven and when that shifted, she became a live wire. Mala grew in power and became heaven's top angel, but earned her name when she disobeyed heaven in many more strange and creative ways than my initial idea of demonizing us.
I became Bona, good, and she become Mala, Evil, and heaven chained her to our home the wasteland. They decided I was trusted enough to do their bidding while she rotted away into madness alone.
The Satanic Insanity project was one of many huntings I was sent on but never completed because of my distaste for heaven, and I had no intention to change any time soon.
