At least we are almost done with the first term of school. The first two periods are over for the day and it's now break time. I hope Nathan doesn't come to my class to see Jonathan because I'm not ready for anything yet . Oh my! Speak of the devil. He enters the classroom and I quickly act as if I'm focused on the book that's on my table
and thank goodness it's a math book just in case he asks me anything from it I'll be sure to answer. I'm a math freak after all. Well, Nathan told me so. I look at them as they converse with the side of my eye. You know that look.
Oh Jesus Christ! He's coming my way. Okay baby calm down. I tell myself. I sure should listen to myself since I never listen to anyone else. Being stubborn though.
"Hey cutie." I blushed. You know those blushes you try by all means to cover up but they just show. But thankfully I managed to put it all together.
"Hey homie."I look up at him. I bet I didn't mention that he was my homie.
"How are you?"
"I'm good. I'm good how are you.?" I give him a big smile. You know that smile u give to your mom or dad when he almost caught u stealing a piece of meat right?
"Don't tell me you doing math. I mean, you always on that. I wonder how you manage because it gives some of us a headache."
"Am I some of you?" I look at him with a pout and poppy eyes.
"Arg! Get lost." He sticks his tongue out. And like a chameleon on that note. "Oh snap! I forgot I had to dash somewhere. See you." He rushed out of the room.
Okay?So this is how it's going to be. Act like nothing happened. I'm the shy type for one. I thought I'd shy away when I'm with Nathan but he was acting like nothing happened between us. Hm, at least I did the same.
Uh-oh . Here comes Cajo. I wonder if ever he has something better to do than loitering around like a pregnant hen. I hope he's not going to ask me about Nathan and I. This one though. If ever somebody told me he's half female I wouldn't object. He's like those ladies who sniff their noses into other folks' businesses.
"Hey you." With an evil smile.
"Hey Cajo. How are you." You know that one moment when you feel like your liver is right up your throat and it'd choke you at any moment. Now that's how I felt.
"I'm alright..uhm.. Mrs.. Ashton."
"Oh please! You don't start with your nonsense. Can you get lost already?" I roll my eyes.
"Sure thing madam Ashes." He winked at me. Oh God. Did he really have to witness what happened yesterday. I'm dead . I bet he'll soon be blackmailing me about it. Piece of shit!
Can't school be out already. This 30 minutes is like 30 days. What I have in my mind is food right now. Plus having to think about the long queue that these kids here make and the afternoon study, my brain cells tire instantly. At long last the siren rang and it was school out. Two o'clock sharp.
*****************************
The Sun is about to set. It's ten minutes after 6 and this is the time where girls are preparing themselves to go see their boyfriends and acquaintances since we were locked at seven.
Now this one is feeding on me. I kept asking myself why Nathan hasn't called for me . Or maybe I'm a bad kisser and he doesn't wanna do shit with me again. Mind you he didn't say a thing about it earlier today.Being pessimistic though.
As I was deep in thoughts, I hear someone with a deep voice yelling my name. And it was Eugene, one of Nathan's friends. I must say Nathan is a people's person. I look out the window.
"Yow Mitch! Nathan is calling for you. Come out now."We had a spot just next to the gate of our dormitory and not too far from our matron's house where we'd meet with these boys. Grade 9 stuff though. I guess we chose this spot so that we'd be able to see the security guards and run into the hostel since relationships were forbidden In our school.
I got to Nathan. We chatted for minutes until I came to a realization that Mitali was around. When it was time for the hostel mother to lock the hostel, girls who were sitting at the veranda and balcony would shout dialogue since it rhymed with "they lock" as a signal to us that we should part ways . Instead of Nathan and I to part ways we stayed behind and made out.
I still couldn't believe that it happened again. I was the last person to run to the hostel. I made sure that I'm not noticed by that old lady with a frog face since I would've gotten into trouble with her. My make outs with Nathan went on for days and we were now used to it.
