*ding dong*

I hear the doorbell rig and I'm confused due to my sleepy state. Then I remember that Victoria has people coming over and I jump out of bed to change. I put on some dark skinny jeans, a gray long sleeve shirt, my new beanie, and my new chucks. I rush to take my hair out of its braid and run around looking for my glasses but I can't find them anywhere. I look on my dresser, desk, and the bathroom counter and it's nowhere to be seen. I start crawling on the floor and there's a knock on the door.

"Hold on please!" I get off the floor and wipe the fuzz off my knees due to the carpet and open my door to find a very pretty African American girl.

"Hi." She asks.

"Um. Hi." I say breathleasly from the running. I should really get in shape.

"Were you the one running around everywhere? You sound like you're out of breathe." She says laughing practically reading my mind.

"Yeah. Haha." I give a breathy laugh.

"Was everything okay?"

"Yeah. I was just um... looking for my glasses."

"Do you need help?"

"Not really but if you'd like you can. You don't have to though."

"Its fine." She smiles.

"Okay." I turn and begin to walk toward my desk and she follows except looking on the shelves above my bed. I turn to look around my desk and I hear the nameless girl say, "I found them!" I turn around and see her holding them and she walks over and hands them to me.

"Thank you... um... I never got your name."

"Danielle."

"Okay. Well, thank you Danielle."

"It was no problem. And you are Christina. I wasn't stalking you or anything, Victoria came over yesterday and she mentioned you."

"Umm... okay?"

"This is a very bad introduction. Let's restart this." She goes into the hallway and closes the door behind her and knocks. I can't help but to laugh. It feels good. I open the door to see Danielle smiling. "Hi. I'm Danielle."

"Hi. I'm Christina." I smile and I stick my hand out to shake her hand but she shakes her head no. "What?"

"Only guys shake hands silly. You're a girl. We hug."

"Oh, yeah. Haha. My bad." I open my arms and she does the same giving me a quick hug.

"Oh, I almost forgot. I was sent up here to tell you dinner is ready."

"Well let's go eat. I'm starved!" Danielle laughs and I follow her downstairs. Maybe she'll be my first friend here? I hope so. She seem like a really nice person.

"It's about time. We thought you two got lost." Robert jokes. We all laugh and take our seats at the rectangular table. Robert is sitting at the head of the table and Victoria is sitting next to him with a woman who I'm assuming is Danielle's mom. She gets up and makes her way to me to give me a hug and smiles.

"I'm Patricia."

"Christina."

"Pleasure meeting you." She smiles.

"No the pleasures all mine." I smile.  "A girl with manners. I like her already."

"Mom. Can we just eat now? I'm hungry." Danielle says.

"So much sass from this one." Patricia says laughing. She takes her seat and we do as well. I take a seat in front of Victoria and Danielle takes a seat next to me in front of her mom.

"So Christina, how was the trip?"

"It was good. I slept the majority of the time."

"How long was the flight?"

"Seven hours I think."

"Why so long?"

"We have smaller planes so it takes longer."

"Oh okay. What do you think of California so far?"

"It's good. Cold. But not as cold as Minnesota."

"Have you been out anywhere lately?"

"I went to the mall yesterday."

"With friends?"

"No. I went with Robert. This is only my second day so I haven't really made any friends." I would if I could but I can't.

"Ahem." Danielle interrupts looking at me.

"Okay I lied. I made one friend." And Danielle gives me a smile.

"Well that's good. Danielle is going shopping with some friends after Christmas. You should go with them. Make some new friends." Patricia says.

"Yeah. It sounds like fun. If it's alright with Victoria and Robert."

"Of course it's fine." Victoria says and Robert nods agreeing with her.

"Yay! This is going to be so much fun."

I laugh and continue eating my food. The rest of the night consisted of small talk and trying to get to know me. After a few hours, they decided to go home because Victoria needed to go to sleep. After Danielle and Patricia left Robert and I cleaned up so Victoria could sleep. Robert left after cleaning to go to bed so I was left alone. I decided to go watch some TV and scrolled through the channels when I saw Say Yes to the Dress came on. I love this show more than America's Next Top Model which is hard to beat. I got comfortable on the couch crossing my legs criss-cross applesauce style like a little kid and put a pillow on my lap like I always do. I watched three one hour episodes before falling asleep on the couch.

I am so sorry for the late updates. I've been with relatives for a while and it's taken me fifteen to twenty minutes each day to write a little. It's still kind of boring but stuff will happen soon. Very soon. Like in the next chapter or two. I haven't decided yet. Anyways, please comment, vote, and share. If you want to follow me that's cool too. If you are already, I love you. If you aren't, I love you anyways. I love you all. xxAlyssa
