Lillian loved spring. And rain. God did she love rain. The way it smells, looks, feels, sounds. It makes her feel safe. Currently, Lilly was enjoying today's rainstorm through the window of her favorite cafe with a book and a cup of her favorite mint tea. She was in heaven.
"Lilly? Order's ready, hun." Mrs. Meg called from the counter. Lilly got up to go get it. "That you Meg!" She chirped, and went back to her comfy seat next to the window. Mrs. Meg is a kind woman. Always lets Lilly stay as long as she wants in the cafe and puts extra tomato on her sandwiches.
Lilly observed the restaurant as she ate. Only two other people in the cafe, not including Meg, two old men playing chess at a table near the back of the restaurant. This was her favorite cafe because of how quiet it always was. But she also loved it because of the food. Meg was an amazing cook. Lilly's tomato and Swiss grilled cheese was always crispy and perfectly buttery. She would definitely recommend this place to friends.....if she had any.

"The sand which was amazing as always, Meg." Lilly praised the woman as she returned her empty plate and tea cup. "I would love to stay but I actually have other things to do for once." She said with happiness in her voice.
"Have fun on your adventures today darling." Meg replied. "And don't forget to visit!" She added, walking into the kitchen.
"I won't!" Lilly answered, and she went to gather her things. She pulled on her raincoat, out on her messenger bag, and walked out side.
Aside from rain, Lilly's favorite thing was music, so she put in some earbuds as she was walking.
[Humming]
When I was a child, I heard voices...
Some would sing and some would scream
You soon find you have few choices...
I learned the voices died with meWhen I was a child, I'd sit for hours
Staring into open flame
Something in it had a power,
Could barely tear my eyes awayAll you have is your fire...
And the place you need to reach -
Don't you ever tame your demons
But always keep 'em on a leash[Humming]
When I was 16, my senses fooled me
Thought gasoline was on my clothes
I knew that something would always rule me...
I knew the scent was mine aloneAll you have is your fire
And the place you need to reach
Don't you ever tame your demons
But always keep 'em on a leashWhen I was a man I thought it ended
When I knew love's perfect ache
But my peace has always depended
On all the ashes in my wakeAll you have is your fire,
And the place you need to reach
Don't you ever tame your demons,
But always keep 'em on a leash...Lilly smiled. This was her favorite song. There was just something about it that she really loved. And I went perfectly with the rainy day. She twirled around, enjoying her music, causing her floral dress and pink raincoat to flow around her. She splashed in the puddles childishly and giggled. But she needed to continue along. Like she told Meg, there were things she need to do today.
