It's Time To REGRET

New house and New People

The door opened and they could see a man in the late twenties. He scans both Swara and Sanskar for few minutes as if he is making sure that they are reliable or something of that sort. After it seemed to be a few minutes, "Yes you can stay. Please come in", said the man. They both go inside and see that the house is not that bad as it looks from outside. It is more like a mini bungalow with the stairs in the middle going in two ways to the only floor that is present above them. On the ground floor, there are two rooms and a kitchen. A big and beautiful chandelier is hung to the roof in the middle of the giant hall and a big clock that dings at 12 every day and night. There are a sofa and a few chairs. And near the kitchen, there is one dining table. That is all in the house, It is not well furnished.   

"Hii, I am Abhinav and this is my brother Arnav," says the man who opened the door showing another person who is sitting in the sofa.

 "Arnav, I think I heard your name somewhere, I don't remember properly" she is thinking but suddenly Sanskar shouts.

"You are Arnav Singh Raizada right?" Arnav just nods in yes. "Oh my god Swara, who doesn't know him. He is the one who is ruling the business world for many years. You might have heard in the news. Sir, I am Sanskar Maheshwari and she is Swara Bose, my fiance and I have read about you in many magazines and you are a great inspiration for an upcoming businessman like me"

Arnav just smiles: Well Mr. Sanskar Maheshwari, You can call me Arnav no need of sir. Nice to meet you. (He shakes his hands with Sanskar)

"Hey, you both look alike. You are twins", says Swara in excitement looking at Arnav and Abhinav.  

They both smile. "Ha we are identical twins, the only difference we have is our eye color. Mine is black and Arnav's is brown. Well, This is Omkara Singh Oberoi and his wife Gauri Omkara Singh Oberoi.", says Abhinav pointing the young couple standing near the stairs. All of them greet one another.

"Why are you guys staying here in such a lonely place," asked Swara out of curiosity.

"I think you came here to stay for one night. So, it's better if we keep it that way. Good night" saying this Arnav left upstairs to his room.

"Hey relax, he is like that all strict types. Chill. If you need something to eat or drink the kitchen is to the left on the ground floor. Help yourselves, please. And you can take this room which is to the right of these stairs. It's pretty late we will be going to bed. Good night", Says Abhinav following Arnav.

Gauri and Omkara leave to their room after saying good night. Even Swara and Sanskar don't feel like having something. They are so tired by their journey and also because of the long walk, so they decided to go and sleep. The room looks cozy and comfortable with a big bed and a comforter laid on it so neatly as if someone has just made the bed. There is a bed lamp on the side table. Both of them sleep on the bed and fell asleep as soon as their heads hit the pillow. After some time, Swara's sleep gets disturbed as she feels some light falling onto her eyes. So she slowly opens her eyes and to her shock she sees a shadow moving on the wall in front of her. She suddenly sits and sees in the whole room but she couldn't find anyone. She thinks that it is just her hallucination and goes to the kitchen to drink water. On the way, she sees the time in the clock to be 3. When she was taking a bottle from the fridge she hears some noise outside the corridor as if someone was trying to open the door from outside. She feels scared and turns slowly but then there is no noise. Again when she turns back, the noise starts. That is more than enough for her, she starts screaming and goes to Sanskar to wake him up. By now everyone comes out of their rooms, Swara takes Sanskar to the kitchen. She in panic stutters while saying.

"Swara, calm down, relax, Tell us what happened", asked Sanskar patting her back trying to pacify her.

"I heard some noise outside as if someone is trying to break into this house through this door", she tells pointing to the door that connects the kitchen with the corridor. Abhinav opens the door and sees outside but he finds no one. Everyone goes back to the hall. "What is this guys, We thought to help you but you guys are not letting us sleep properly. This is not fair", says Omkara.

"I am telling sorry on behalf of Swara. It is a new place right? So she might feel a bit scared. Don't mind please", saying this he takes Swara with him to their room. Everyone left to their respective rooms.

"Swara relax, It might be the sound of air. There's nothing over there. You saw it yourself. So, don't think much and sleep, come." Said Sanskar trying to pacify her.

"Sanskar please we will leave from here. I don't like this place", cried Swara hugging him in fear.

"Swara just a few more hours, we will leave ok. Just take rest till then", said Sanskar.

Sanskar sleeps again but Swara is not getting sleep, Whenever she closes her eyes she remembers the shadow and the door sounds. She thinks to herself "No, No it was not my hallucination. Even if I have imagined the shadow but I heard that noise. I should find out who it is" So now as it is not dark, around 7 in the morning she wants to go and check the corridor once. As everyone is asleep, she decides to go alone. She goes out of the main door and around the house towards the corridor.
