The sun was fully risen. Steven and I ran outside and changed back into our human selves. We ran to a nearby park. Suddenly, Ariella and her older sister Laney ran to find us. Steven walked in front of Ariella.

"Hey," said Ariella, tearing up.

"Don't worry, it's all over now," said Steven, wiping the tears off Ariella's face.

"I know, I just don't understand how you two are werewolves." Her eyes changed from brown to orange.

"You-- you're a werewolf, too?" asked Steven.

"Hybrid," said Ariella. "Don't judge. Also, can you and I just be, best friends?"

I felt victory because my best friend who I'd loved my entire life was finally single.

"You're breaking up with me?" Steven asked. "But I thought I was the one who rescued you from the vampires!"

"You did," said Ariella. "And you'll always be considered the one who rescued me from becoming my best friend's dinner, once and for all."

"Yep."

I walked in front of Ariella and asked, "Ariella, do you love me?"

"What?" she asked.

"Because I rescued you, 'cause I love you. I've loved you ever since I first met you." I could tell she was speechless.

"Wait, so you rescued me, because you love me?"

"Yeah, I do. I always have."

Ariella looked over at everyone. They smiled and nodded, including Steven. She turned back around and looked into my dark chocolate brown eyes and said, "I only wanna be happy again, that's all I want right now."

I half smiled.

"With Christian, the one I have always loved too," she said.

I fully smiled.

"This is so cute, I think I'm gonna cry," said Laney, smiling and hugging Steven.

Ariella kissed me, then she looked down to see purple smoke circling around her. She started to float up in the air as the purple smoke blew in the air, making everything purple, including the sky. She slowly came back down and brushed off the purple that was still on her. Laney and Steven walked over to her.

"I guess a potion doesn't always need to work with the one you truly love, does it?" asked Laney, not so serious.

"I guess not," Ariella said, smiling.

I walked over to her. "So, you happy now?"

"Oh Christian, I've never been happier," said Ariella as she grinned. I picked her up and spun her around.
