It's the first day of high school and of course nothing is going right. I woke up and rolled straight off the bed onto the floor. Great start Emma. I made it down the stairs only to discover the sink overflowed because my idiot brother Ashton left it on. He already left for school so I couldn't complain to him about it. This day couldn't get any worse. I clean up the mess and grab some breakfast. Thirty minutes later I pick up my backpack and head out the door. I start to relax when I step on the bus and pop my headphones in my ears. Thank god I brought them because I hate awkward silence. As panic at the disco's song new perspective blares through the headphones I start to relax. Maybe today won't be so bad. A couple songs later I notice the bus coming to a halt. I grab my backpack as walk down the isle. As soon as I turn to step down the steps, someone shoves me and I tumble down the steps. Of course, this is just my luck. I get up and turn to find two deep brown eyes staring back at mine. Calum Hood, should have known. He flashes me a devilish smirk and walks straight past me. God what a jerk. I walk towards the building literally radiating anger. I can't believe this is how my first day of high school is gonna go. I swing open the door and take a deep breath. "EMMA!!!!" you hear someone yell. I turn around to see my best friend Rachel running towards me. "Hi Rachel, it's so great to see you!," I exclaim. As we walk through the freshman hall I tell her of my horrendous morning. " I can't believe all that happened!," Rachel says, gasping. After some small talk I wave goodbye to her and walk towards my locker. As I open it somebody slams it back causing me to jump. "Today is not the da-" I am cut off by Calum pressing his finger to my lips, silencing me. "I missed you baby," Calum whispered in my ear as his hand snaked around my waist. "Well I certainly didn't miss you at all. ," I say moving away out of his grip. I have been avoiding him all summer and I plan to keep avoiding him for the rest of the school year. "You know you missed me and the way I touch you," he said trying to pull me back into his chest. "Calum, you cheated on me and that's not forgivable." "But that was last year and you know I still love you ," he protested. I push him off me and reopen my locker door. "Fine then ," Calum complained and walked away. I quickly grab all my stuff and head to first period. I am determined to make this year good no matter what.
