"Emma!" I hear Ashton yell. I shuffle over to my door and barely crack it open. "Ash let me explain," I plea. He nods and I continue saying,"After Michael stood me up Luke offered to take me out to the bowling alley." Ashton's eyes widen and he blurts," HE STOOD YOU UP??!" I roll my eyes and disregard his comment. "As I was saying, we bowled for a while and eventually Liz came to pick him up, leaving me alone on the curb. And then of course Calum shows up," I tell him. Ash cringes at his name and nods, signaling me to continue. "He came up with a couple of his friends and they surrounded me. Then Calum decided it was a good idea to touch me, and that's what Michael broke his nose." He stared at his shoes and sighed,"I still think you shouldn't even speak to that Clifford boy." "ARE YOU KIDDING?" I say raising my voice. "He saved me from a lot of trouble tonight and I really think Michael isn't the one you need to be worried about." He looks up from the floor, his eyes meeting mine and says," I don't want to see you get hurt again Em. I love the lads but I don't want another situation like Calum's," he explained. I walk up to Ashton and wrap my arms around his waist, squeezing him tightly. "I'm in high school now, let me make mistakes and learn from them. If he breaks my heart then so be it," I say backing away from him. "Okay, but I need a night to sleep on it. It's been a pretty eventful day, even for me," he laughs. "Just think it over Ash. Goodnight," I wave to him. "Goodnight love," he replies. I walk up the stairs and I can finally breathe. Do I really like Michael Clifford? Will he break my heart? Too many questions are flowing through my head, so I pop my headphones in and drift off to sleep.
