It's really late

So, as you can see from the title, it's really late. I'm actually writing this at 4:38 am to be exact.

But anyways, I came on here to get some things off my mind.

One thing I want to get off my mind is a book I'm currently writing. I haven't given it much thought yet but I still wanna give it a try. I love writing and all but I'm just not very good at coming up with creative ideas.

I'm thinking of doing the book in a diary setting. I want the protagonist to be a girl but at the same time, I think doing a boy protagonist would be interesting too. Whoever the protagonist is; I want them to be in high school, I just don't know if I want it to be their freshman year or their senior year. I feel like either one would be fun to write about.

Freshman year is basically about trying to find where you are among people/classmates. Freshman year is also a kind of confusing year where; you try to find yourself in some kind of way. So I feel that if I were to write about freshman year then it would be mostly about the protagonist trying to find themselves. The protagonist would make new friends and learn lessons along the way. But at the same time, senior year is pretty complicated as well.

Senior year can be fun from what I've heard but at the same time, it can be pretty stressful. I mean, You're trying to figure out where you're next step in life is gonna be. Will you go to college to live that 'successful life' or will you choose to live out your youth days while you still can? There's even that thing where which college can I get into and which one do I want to get into? Do I get a job that I love or do I get one that pays me a lot of money?

But I'm not just gonna be writing about the stressfulness of what happens outside of the senior year.  I would obviously write about what happens inside of senior year like; peer pressure, complicated relationships, relationship problems. I know those things can happen in the freshman year too. But I feel like it'll be way more interesting because the protagonist knew their classmates for a while. The protag would know some secrets others didn't know, past friends could come in (Probably bringing in some problems). Heck, I could throw in a past lover and have some kind of love triangle or some shiz.

Of course, there's still the sophomore and junior years but I feel like it wouldn't be much of a difference if I say the protag was a sophomore or junior.  Well, I guess there is the thing where I could do a little mix of both freshman and senior. Have the protag still trying to find themselves but at the same time have all the same conflicts with relationships that senior year would provide.

I don't know. Should I do one or the other? or do a mix of both?

And this isn't even the hard part about the story. I still have to come up with names, locations, the drama, how many characters I should add, how many characters will leave, and if I should even add in a romantic interest.

I don't know, it's really late. I'm just gonna sleep on it <3
