Every little girl's birthday should be a day of spending time with her parents, blowing the candle from the cake together, making a wish to have whatever she wants. She could wish for a long dress, a horse, a tree house but Danielle would wish for the same thing she wished for every year, to meet her dad in person. She knows who he is, she knows nobody knew of her existence in his life but did not know why. Clare Buckfield, her mother who she knew was famous would not tell her why she was mad at him all the time. Declan Donnelly, one half of the famous British duo in the country broke Clare's heart and when Danielle turned 4 years old she took her to the L.A California in the US. Dec would call her every day plus before and on the day of her birthday when he was suppose to be in bed but he could not sleep until he heard his little starlight's voice. 14 years later, Today was no exception.
At the breakfast table eating her breakfast on a Friday before the day of her birthday was Danielle. She kept staring at the phone waiting for her every day call from her dad. Clare was preparing her the school bag as well as work related papers.
"Why doesn't he call? I'm leaving in 15 minutes" Danny said veryanxious to her mother
"He is probably having lunch with someone, finish your breakfast as the bus will be here soon" Clare said firmly, she gets moody every time Dec calls. Clare was not a bad person but a bit bitter when Declan Donnelly was concerned.
Suddenly the phone rang; Danielle rushed to answer it since she knew who it was
"Hello" the girl said on the phone
"Happy Birthday my little starlight" Declan said with a very sweet and gentle voice. He always called her starlight whenever they talked
"Thank you Dad, luckily you called 10 minutes before my school bus arrived" she said as sweetly as Dec
"Aye, sorry I was having lunch with Ali before returning to work" Dec said apologetically then chuckled. Ali loved Danielle like a daughter also even if she hadn't met her but knew Dec loved his daughter and knew they were going to love the upcoming baby just as much. Alison was mad at first when she discovered the existence of Danny but seeing Dec suffer over not having her warmed her heart so she accepted her.
"You are going to do great tomorrow dad, I know it, uncle Ant will be as proud as I am of you" She had read the news so knew the duo were having a difficult time, the girl loved Ant as an uncle even if he was not his real one. Ant knew about her and every time the duo were together when Dec called her, Ant would make her laugh telling her jokes and stories about her dad. Also, that Saturday was the penultimate show of the series of Saturday night Takeaway which was the first time Dec was doing it alone and soon was the series finally in Florida but Danny did not know if he was going to be there due to the shows situation. That week Clare hid from Danielle that in fact he WAS going to be there for the finally.
"That means the world to me darling, I miss you so much" Dec said with an almost cracking voice
"I miss you too dad, I wish I could see you" with watering eyes, Danny heard the school bus horn "I have to go, the bus is here. I love you, Bye Mom"
"Have nice day starlight, I love you too" Declan said quickly before the phone was passed to Clare and Danielle run off.
"Alright you talked to her, call her tomorrow" Clare said with a cold voice on the phone
"You can't keep bloody doing this, Danielle is almost 15 and I have the right to see her. I am going to Florida next weekend and..."
"You will not go near my daughter; I have raised her and protected her all her life from knowing the truth of why she had to be apart from her dad" Clare said rising his voice
"It was something that happened a long time ago, besides I did not know you got pregnant after the last time we saw each other. If I've known, I..."
"Of course I would not let you know, you would hurt my daughter the way you hurt me!!!" She shouted
"You are so selfish, I would never hurt her"
"Bye Declan" That said Clare hung up the phone. Dec was furious, he hated being apart from Danielle but that would not be for much longer since she was now 15 and could fight for her. He had to make a plan
It was almost lunch time at school when the students were cleaning their stuff to go for recess. The teacher was passing a piece of paper throught the classroom so the kids could give them to their parents to sign.
"Alright everyone listen up" the teacher started "These permission slips are for a little trip we got planned before summer break, we are going to Universal Orlando resorts!!!" all the students cheered excitedly. "Now, since is a little far to travel by bus, we have to travel by plane but don't worry the school will cover the tickets" (assuming they can do that). "We are leaving Friday at 9am and coming back on Sunday afternoon, let us know if there is any issues we should know about and we will take care of it" The teacher finished and they all went out for recess
This was going to be very exciting; Danielle has never been on a plane before so she was nervous and scared that her mother wouldn't let her go. Clare has always been very protective of her and would not let out of sight so this was not going to be easy. Danny was going to be 15 years old tomorrow and that means she could go on the trip but was afraid her mother would stop her from going.She had this feeling in her heart that this trip was going to change her life forever. was right of course because her Declan was going to be in the same place as her for the series finally of Saturday night Takeaway but neither of them knew what was about to happen. They would be so close to each other yet so far.
What will Clare's reaction be when she hears about the trip?? Will she let Danny go? Would Danielle and Dec meet in person for the first time ever?? This is my first ever story, I hope you like it. Sorry if it's so short I will try and make it longer next time. I am bilingual but not from the UK so I apologize in advance if my story sounds a bit American although I'm not American either hehe. I do not own any of the people in the story apart from Danielle. By the way, Danny sound boyish but it's her nickname apart from "starlight" which only Declan will call her that. Please tell me what you think, I really want to continue. I will upload once or twice a week, since i'm on vacation i'll try to post as much as I can. xx
