Reminiscing

It was a few hours later, the time was now 7 PM. I wanted to impress Nick, make him think I was a big shot. That, of course, wasn't true... yet.

"I can't believe that he's a police officer! It's what he always wanted to be... good for him, I need to congratulate him when he comes over... if he comes over..."

I shook my head, I need to stop thinking like this, he will come over, and we're gonna have a nice talk.

Nick's POV

I'm gonna be real with Shade, be myself.
Judy walked up to me. "Haha, Nick! You're a little over dressed, don't ya think?"

"What? You expect me to show up at his place naked?"

Judy nearly fell on the floor laughing

"What? I'm being serious! It's either this, or I go nude!"

Judy wiped a tear from her eye, "aha... what about that green shirt with your tie?"

"No way! I have to make a good impression! I need to look smart."

"Nick, please. Trust me, you'll be fine."

I sighed, "Fine. But if he doesn't like it, I'll hold you responsible, Carrots."

"Go ahead, Nick, anyway have fun!"

I sighed, and I quickly put on my typical green shirt and tie with beige pants.

"Haha, now... let's see if we can hustle my way back into an old friend's heart..." I said quietly

As I stepped out in the evening light, I looked around. Zootopia was a beautiful city, it really was. I pulled out the card Shade gave me from my pocket and looked at the address.

"Okay, let's do this..." I said. Shade's house wasn't too far away so I decided to walk.

Shade's POV

Cooking wasn't my forte, but I had to do something special for when Nick got here. I hope he likes spaghetti.

"Knock, knock, knock"

I spun around, "Oh no! Nick's here!"

I began stirring the pot of spaghetti with one hand, and the pasta sauce with my other, whilst simultaneously trying to get a decent shirt on.

"I'll be there in a second!" I shouted, I heard laughing from behind the door.

After about a minute, I opened the door, and to my joy, I saw the smiling face of Nick staring back at me.

"Hi there." He said in content.

I hugged Nick, and smiled at him.

"Hi there, Nick! I'm so glad you came!"

Nick laughed once again, "of course I came, I wouldn't pass up this opportunity." Nick sniffed the air, "hey uh... is something burning?"

My ears perked up, "Oh no!"

The food was burnt. That was really annoying, but Nick didn't seem to mind. I sighed and rubbed the back of my head. "Sorry Nick... looks like we aren't having food..."

"It's fine, Shade, c'mon sit down. We have a lot of things to catch up on." He said as he patted his hand on the chair seat next to the one he was sat on. I did as he asked and sat down next to him.

"So, what have you been up to all these years?" Nick asked me

I was thinking of making up an awesome story about how my life was insanely action packed with lots of crazy adventures. But... that obviously wasn't the truth.
