Detention With Jake

Maria POV

What did he mean when he said that. There was something fishy about what Jake did. What I noticed was that Jake was smirking the whole time.

I am soon pulled out of my thoughts by the bell, and I realize I am going to be late for math. When I get to math I was late. Great, a detention on my record. My mom is going to be mad. Then all of a sudden Jake walks in and gets a detention for being late too. Great, not only do I have to deal with the torture from my mom I now have to have detention with Jake! I realize that I have been so rude to not tell you that yes, indeed, I do have a crush on Jake. Great how is this day going to get any worse? I know, sitting in a room alone with Jake.

Jake POV

I am dazed by what I did, too deep in thought to realize that the bell rang three minutes ago. Great I have a detention as I walk int other room I notice Maria has just entered too. Oh no, I have a detention with Maria, what do I do! If you have not realized that I have a serious crush on Maria then now you do. I do not know if she likes me back but it would be weird dating the nerd. .Just to sum it up I have a reputation and if people see me with the nerd, it's gone. And I think to myself, how could this day get any worse? I know, I have a detention with my crush, Maria, the nerd.

Maria POV

No time for misery in detention and did I leave one fact out, nope of course I got a detention the day Jake gets one. I have no idea how to react to this but I know know that I will get to know Jake.

Jake POV

As soon as the bell rings for lunch I have little meltdown there on the spot. When I realized people were staring I acted normal. Well, I tried to say that this is my first detention. Me, Jake Mecker, now has a detention written on my record. I freaked out more. I made my way tot the office for detention when I get bumped into by a person. The person starts to fall and I grab the person's hand and help them up with a smirk. The smirk drops when I realize it was Maria. Instead of smiling I panic and also I am comforted by the touch of her skin to mine. And then I am snapped out of my thoughts by Maria pulling her hand away. When I realize that being in a room with Maria cannot be all that bad I am happy.

Maria POV

As I am walking to detention I run into a wall, a brick wall, then I start to fall. A strong hand grabs me and pulls me up. As I realize that it is Jake he also realizes it is me and the smirk that was on his face disappears. A strange look is on his face but I can tell he is in deep thought. So I take the opportunity to save myself and yank my hand away. It seems to be enough to snap him out of it. Then we walk to detention together.
