Chapter 9 Old Stevens back

Bella's Pov

I ended up falling asleep at the computer and when I got up it was 6am and it being a Sunday I went back to sleep in my bed this time. Unfortunately I'm that kind of person that when I wake up I can't fall asleep again. So I headed for the living room to see what was on TV.

I flipped the channels and found America's funniest home videos, a little while later Steven walked into the living room and asked if he can join me, I said nodded and he sat down beside me. There's something about having a guy like Steven simply sitting next to you that makes your heart race. I looked over to him and his eyes were glued to the TV screen so I had a clear view of the profile of his face.

It was extremely awkward for a few minutes since neither one of us were saying anything. Then a video came up of a little girl hitting her dad in the private area and we both busted out laughing. We looked at each other and I saw something on Steven that I hadn't seen before, a genuine smile. Since he has got here all I have seen is half smiles and smirks.

We ended up watching three hours' worth of America's funniest home videos up until, Steven said he had to go somewhere and as he walked out the door. I sat there realizing I had just spent the last three hours with Steven laughing not saying a word just simply laughing and it wasn't even awkward.

I went upstairs to call Ericka and tell her but again no answer. So I went back on my computer all the way until dinner and when I went down stairs Steven still had come back from whatever it was he had to do. During dinner my parents were awfully quiet.

"Is anything wrong?" I asked both my parents who then looked t each other and then back at me at the same time.

"A friend of ours from high school has passed away and we were invited to the funeral."It's in Florida so you're going to have to stay here with Steven while we are gone"

Instantly I found myself choking on the words that just came out of my dad's mouth. They weren't just going to be gone for a day but a whole week. Need to hear that again? Yeah a whole week alone, with Steven.

After Dinner I went upstairs to my room and from my window I looked out to the backyard I saw Steven pacing back and forth.

Part of me wanted to see what's wrong and the other part of me felt that he would just give me his award winning smirk and not tell me what's wrong. It was now almost ten and he was still out there leaning on the tree by my window with his hands in his pockets and looking down at the floor. I decided to go down and talk to him.

I get to my backyard and make my way slowing towards him until I'm directly in front of him.

"Hey is anything wrong"

His eyes leave the floor to meet mine, and at first it's a gentile look and suddenly the emotion in his eyes change back to that hard exterior he had when I first saw him

"You know it's none of your business just go back upstairs I'm sure Cole is going to be coming up your window to sleep with you tonight"

My heart drops to the pit of my stomach to the sound of his words. I was actually getting along with him this morning and now this. He looks back down at his feet. I walk closer to him the anger building up in me and the blood pumping for fast in my veins that I could feel my entire body vibrating.

I swing my arm up towards his face, but just before the palm of my hand made contact with his cheek he caught it inches away. He turns me around and pins me to the trunk of the tree and I could almost feel the anger radiate off of his body. His face is only inches away from mine and his eyes are more piercing than ever. He lets go of my arms and walks off without saying a word.

I'm left there completely dumbfounded and if it wasn't for the cool air circling around my face and feel I would have passed out. I walk back up to my room and tried to go to sleep but know it will be I'm possible, thankfully tomorrow is the beginning of fall break and there is no school tomorrow. That also means I will be alone with Steven the whole time.

**Sorry this chapter is so much shorter then the others but it ended in a really intense moment so i didnt want to ruin it. please vote, comment and share with friends :)
