"I watched it go everywhere. It was... It was horrifying." A young man sat shaking in Valeriya's office, sitting across from her at her desk. He had been a newly hired guard, who happened to just witness a violent murder.

"Alright then, guard number... 2883." She inhaled through her nose and gathered the fake empathy that she would need to handle this situation. "What did the assailant look like? Could you describe the body for me?"

He looked a little taken aback by her nonchalant attitude, but went on nonetheless. "Y-yeah. They were tall, shrouded in a thick black material, bulky too. I think it was a man, just by the stature. God... whoever it was tore this man apart. There was gore everywhere... In pools on the ground, splashed on the walls..." The young guard began to shudder, almost looking like he might get sick.

"Blood is an interesting substance," Valeriya began. "It's what keeps us alive, flows inside of us and pumps through our limbs to promote movement..." She paused for a moment. "Amazing how it can make us feel when it's outside of the body, hm? Beautiful and daring, yet unsettling. Like ink on the skin."

"Lucas, could you please meet me in my office? I've something to discuss with you." She cooed smoothly over the intercom, waiting for him to show shortly after. He was no doubt wandering around trying to befriend every stranger he met, or he was in the labs down in the basement with Toni. Either way, she needed him as soon as possible.

"Sorry, sorry!" He hurried in nearly ten minutes later. "What's up, buttercup?" A huge smile stretched across his face as he looked at her.

Valeriya was leaned back in her chair, staring at the ceiling with a stoned in look on her face. "Someone saw you, Sentinal."

The bubbly atmosphere around him faded then, his eyes fixated on his friend now. "What do you mean someone saw me? I was careful!" He all but roared.

"I know that!" She hissed and then sat up to look at him better. "It was one of those new pissants that were hired. They saw you maim Carlson, so naturally... We have to take care of this little bug."

Valeriya rose from her seat and walked over to where Sentinal stood, leaning heavily against one of his large arms.

"Yes?" He joked, looking down at her.

"This shit is just so inconvenient, and borderline dull. I've killed 7 people in the last month, Sen!" She huffed.

"Oh, boo hoo Valeriya. You know the best policy is to leaving nothing. People are rats, besides Toni's doing well down in the labs. Keep yourself busy, it won't be long now." He assured.

--

The young gaurd woke up with a start, feeling the sudden sting in the back of his head. He winced and looked around, his slight calm exploding into panic when he realized he was strapped down to a chair in a place he didn't recognize.

"Quiet down." Valeriya's voice echoed from the dimly lit room, her pumps clicking against the ground beneath her as she came into view. She looked ominous, her blue eyes taking on a darker shade than normal.

"To my knowledge..." She began, looking down at a clipboard in her hands. "Benjamin, you saw something that was meant to be classified. A deal of sorts, between myself and a friend." Valeriya sucked in a breath through her slightly parted lips and ran her fingers on her left hand over the collarbone that was exposed from underneath her blouse, letting the clipboard fall to her right side.

"W-what do you mean?" He sounded like he was begging, and the smirk that crossed her lips didn't go unnoticed either.

"You know exactly what I mean, don't you?" Her thick accented painted the room as she stepped closer to him, stopping in front of his trembling body. "Enough talk now, darling. I must show you something."

The screams that echoed out into the lab were delicous. Valeriya had given herself the satisfaction of teaching him about her expertise with a scalpel. The way he reacted and jolted against the cold of the metallic blade drove her further to prove another point.

Many people were week, and those who were didn't last long in her line of work. Blood pooled below them on the concrete floor, but she didn't care. It was all in good fun, for her that is. Yet, during the whole ordeal of slowly bleeding this man to death, she couldn't stop herself from looking over to the gurney where Toni was laying still.

The sounds of her victims begging pulled her back to reality, her eyes landing back on his shivering limbs and his tear streaked face.

"P-please!" He cried. "Please stop! Let me go!"

Valeriya took a step back at that point, laying the scalpel down on a table off to the side. "What makes you think that I would let you go after all this? In that tiny little brain of yours, Benjamin, did it ever occur to you that you weren't supposed to be in that corridor?!"

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry! I won't do it again! Please, just let g-" He was cut off by the very same scalpel Valeriya was using being shoved into the side of his neck.

She took a step back to see who had defied her orders of leaving her the fuck alone, but faltered when she saw Toni standing there proudly, blood splattering her left side.

"Antonia..." Was all she could let out in a soft breath.

Toni stepped forward slowly, closing the distance between herself and Valeriya. That same stoic look on her face.

"Antonia, I-" She was cut off by the hungry capture of her lips, pushed back against the lab table that she had been standing in front of.

"It's been awhile." Toni said once she finally found the will to pull away.

"I feel like having sex while covered in blood wasn't our most thought out plan." Toni said, helping Valeriya zip up her skirt from the back.

"It's not like it was the first time we've done it." She teased back, "messier this time, though." Her hands landed on Toni's strong shoulders and felt there for a few long moments when the assassin finally came around to face her. Valeriya had missed this.

"How long was I gone?" Toni asked softly, stroking a thumb over her lover's cheek.

"Months... I was afraid we'd lost you, darling." It was as if Valeriya was sent all the way back to the beginning, feeling that giddy excitement that being around Toni gave her.

"Never, I'm here. It just seems like I'm a target for trouble lately." She shrugged, bringing her arms in a firm hold around Valeriya's waist. "We should go clean up. I'll uh, help if you want?"

"Mmm, you never change." Valeriya grinned and leaned forward to give her a short kiss. "I'd love to."
