Garnet P.O.V
As the elevator descends, I feel a wave of nostalgia wash over me. Fragments of my previous life come flooding back. Other people have also. In tiny bits and pieces, or at least, that is what I've been told.
So he asked me if I'm ready, obviously not, The doors opened and I stared relentlessly at Cole as he walked out of the elevator.
"What's up? C'mon." Cole questioned.
I walked straight ahead in silence. I stopped in my tracks still looking in the direction of what looked like a city in front of me.
Still, in a daze, I answered,
"What's the point of me being here? Some stupid scroll? Y'know of all the places we had to come back to it had to be mine -"
Cole charged towards my direction.
"What do you mean "your" place? This is the place with the most power to destroy our home!"
"I'm not sure about you but if you really loved our so-called home you'd actually be inclined to saving it!"
"Then again, it wouldn't matter if you've been here since you were 10 because, in the end, you don't care for what happened to you, or how to get a do-over or just like everyone else too afraid to do anything. That's just it... you don't care."
I clenched my fists.
"You better get your act together because I'm not here for another one of your stupid sob stories. We've all been through something, maybe it's time we just got over it. Besides, you chose to come along. Or was it just because you were forced to?"
I marched over in his direction and raised my hand ready to slap him right across the face. All I got in return was an icy cold stare. I flinched as I put my hand down.
I started walking in the opposite direction and he asked where I was going, I only argued,
"The only reason I came here was for answers."
"Right. Then it'd be best if you kept your mouth shut nothing good comes out when you open it anyway." Cole remarked.
I turned immediately. I wasn't going to start something. If I did, I would most likely finish it anyway.
Again, he asked where I was going.
"Hey where are you going, we still have a mission to finish."
"Call it whatever you want, this is NOT a mission. Besides, I came here for answers and that's what I intend on finding." I replied back.
I walked away with no intention on turning back. Now to find out what happened before I was sent to that hell hole that Cole calls home all of the time.
Cole P.O.V
She just walked away. I don't care that's all she ever does anyway. We'll regroup later. I don't have time to deal with her, she always has a problem.
I look down at Faith, who is still in my arms. She's the way to finding a solution to what's happening back at home. I walked towards the city. The city I thought I'd never have to return to.
I placed Faith down as I passed a house that looked all too familiar. I wish I never went inside.
I looked through the window and my eyes widened. Slamming the door open, I saw the projection of a woman.
It's Anna.
"Who are you? What are you doing in my house?"
I blinked unable to speak.
"I-I" I attempted to explain.
"Wait right there, I'm calling the cops." Anna declared.
I backed away now at the front porch. Now on my knees. I was petrified. Unable to move.
Memories starting flooding back in.
My heart beat increased with each thought.
The gun.
The trigger.
Cops.
Bullying.
Anna.
The End.
I froze. I couldn't think or move. I felt a touch on my shoulder and I clenched my fists, ready for the worst.
"What are you doing? Your name is Cole, right? You have a lot starting with where the heck am I? The last thing I remember was being with you and..."
She trailed on. With a sigh of relief, I got a hold of myself.
"Faith."
She nodded her head, bewildered. She extended her hand for support. I turned around only to see a woman of no memory in front of me. My mind playing tricks on me. I chuckled.
I grabbed Faith's hand and ran into the nearest alley.
"Stop grabbing my hand so suddenly!" Faith demanded.
I ignored her request and looked around at my surroundings.
Good nobody.
I walked to the left and motioned for Faith to do the same. I looked up to see the trace of a shadow in front of me.
Startled, I took a step back.
"Sorry young man you're accurately pictured in the image above."
"You have been accused of breaking and entering. You should come down to the station for questioning."
Sealing cuffs into my hands. I watched as he motioned for Faith to be prosecuted also.
She struggled not understanding the situation she was just set into.
"No use struggling." She was told.
As we were being set inside the police car, I heard the same old police gag.
"You have the right to remain silent. Anything you do or say will be used against you in the court of law. You the right to an attorney..."
As the car drove away I turned to gaze upon the neighborhood. Within it, I saw Garnet. Knowing that she would be able to get us out of this situation.
What are you waiting for? Aren't you going to help us? I asked.
It looks like your hands are full besides, I told you I came here for answers. Garnet replied.
I didn't answer after that. I had nothing else to say. I looked at Faith who had a patronized look on her face. Just like Anna did. I inhaled, then exhaled.
I could feel my hands clenching beneath the cuffs. I closed my eyes. Anna died because of me. In spite of myself, I let words get to me. I won't stop at the chance this time. Not again.
