you gazed out into a beautiful pink and orange sunset as you walked down a mountain trail. The daisies had bloomed, the birds sang, and you held hands with your longtime boyfriend Benjamin Orr. Usually, this would have been the most relaxing thing for you to be doing, but today, things were different. Today, you had missed your period for the second month in row. Today, you wore a large shirt to cover your growing abdomen. Yes, today, you were pregnant.

And you didn't know how to tell your boyfriend.

Benjamin was a wonderful man, he'd been faithful to you for several months. He always promised to stay by your side no matter what, but unfortunately these were different circumstances. You knew would be kind enough not to hurt you, but what would become of your lives? The pregnancy hadn't planned at all. Ben was the guitarist in The Cars. Would he have to stop touring? Would he say its too much and leave? Would he ask you to get an abortion? You hoped not. Sure it wasn't planned out, but you had always wanted kids one way or another...

"Hey, earth to (y/n), you still with me baby?" Smiled Benjamin. You couldn't help but smile back. "Yeah, I just got a lot on my mind right now." His smiling face was shadowed by a look of concern. "Whats wrong? You know you can tell me anything, right?"

You sighed. You wished you could tell him everything too, but right now, you just weren't so sure. He was so trusting. Why couldn't you be, just this once? In the silence, 100,000 scenarios raced through your mind.  You have to tell him. No you don't. Just run away, forget him. No, you love him too much. He wont love you if he finds out-

"I'm pregnant." you finally blurted out.

"You're what?"

Tears began to well up in your eyes. You knew this wasn't going to go well. Why the hell did you have to tell him? "Did you say you were pregnant?" You closed your eyes as to not meet his. "Yes. I'm pregnant. Two and a half months." A single tear escaped your eye and rolled down your cheek. To your surprise, a gentle hand wiped it away. "Hey (y/n), don't cry, its okay, we'll make it work." Ben took you in his arms. "You're going to be a wonderful mother. And I'll be the best father I can be." Suddenly, he started laughing. "Oh my, I'm going to be a dad!" You opened your eyes again and saw his face radiating joy. You couldn't help but giggle either. This was going to work, you guys were going to make it, one way or another.

seven months later:

After a grueling pregnancy and several complications, your little girl had finally arrived. Incredibly small, with your bright smile and Ben's trusting eyes. You could already tell she would be wild someday, just like you both. You named her Daisy, after the day on the trail. Despite having miss touring, Benjamin was happy to raise Daisy with you. He'd even offer to get up in the middle of the mivht when she cried to hold her and sing to her. One day you got a picturee taken of you, Ben, and Daisy. Every day you glanced at it and thought to yourself, this is it. We made it.
