simply because i've been watching old and cute keeks i was thinking of this thing like, maybe michael is literally always all over calum and he is always being adorable and cute and loving but calum is kinda an ass to anyone else about touching and shit but when it's michael he doesn't care so michael is kissing calum all over, but they aren't really dating, and calum is confused because normally he would get so mad at this kinda thing so calum kisses michael back but this time on the lips and michael is taken aback and BOOM malum is dating
