Behind The Scenes: Book Three || Taejin

XVII: Rebound

Ever since they were trainees, Seokjin and Namjoon had always found some time to go out for walks together. In fact, Jin was sure that had a lot to do with the reason why he had fallen for the leader. Hearing Namjoon speak about the most random things in such a harmonic and wise manner was mesmerizing for Seokjin. He could spend hours just listening to him talk, almost making poetry with every little detail he chose to explain. The leader also seemed to enjoy Jin's company. He would always smile or thank him for never letting him walk alone. Even if they didn't say anything and just enjoyed the landscapes in silence.

However, that had changed when Namjoon had his disagreement with Yoongi. Since then, the leader had not asked Jin to go walk with him again. At least not until today. That's why there were no words to express how happy Jin felt now. His excitement was such that he hadn't even noticed when practice was over and had been taken home.

Yoongi and Hoseok dissapeared into their bedrooms upon arrival, maybe too tired to speak. Jimin laid down with his face buried on the couch and not long after, Tae laid down on top of him. Jimin didn't move away but he did laugh at the younger's action. Jungkook had gone straight to the kitchen, a pout forming in his lips as he realized there was no food prepared. "I can cook you something really quick" Jin offered with a smile as he approached the sweet maknae.

However, as soon as Kookie was going to answer, Joonie walked in. "Ready, hyung?" He asked, not even sparing a glare towards Jungkook. Jin turned to look at the maknae "It's okay, hyung. Go!" Kookie said softly, not completely wearing a smile but still a little puffiness being noticeable under his brown eyes. Jin nodded and stepped out of the kitchen as he saw Kookie taking ingredients out of the fridge. "We're going out" Joon announced towards Jimin and Taehyung that still laid together on the couch. "Have fun" Jimin spoke but Tae didn't say a word. He just locked his cold gaze with Jin in such a way that the latter was able to physically feel shivers in his body.

Jin followed Namjoon out the door, Wrapping his scarf around his neck. "You did that on purpose, Joonie" Jin scolded turning to to look at the leader. "What?" Joon answered, looking forward. "About Kookie. Don't treat him that way" Jin said with a stronger tone that what he had meant. Namjoon stayed silent. There was nothing to be said when his intentions had been so clearly noticed. "I know Jungkook would never actually fight you because he is too polite, but if you treat him poorly you'll call for Yoongi's wrath and none of us want to see that" Jin finished as the two of them entered the big park they usually shared their walking adventures in.

"It is not like I want to be mean to him" Joon said with a bitter tone. "I am dissapointed on him. I don't want to have to hide my emotions anymore than what I already do when we film together. I should be able to be myself at least at home" Namjoon said, ending his explanation with a big sigh. Something that definitely made Jin think. Since his fight with Suga, they had filmed several episodes of RUN BTS. They had had a public appearances, done promotions for award shows, performed some songs and in none of those had Jin seen the slightest bit of discomfort coming from Namjoon or Yoongi. It was remarkable. "We are good actors" he spoke, putting his hands into the pockets of his big winter jacket.

"We were taught to be. It is not like we have another option anyway" Joon said with a tiny nod. They continued walking around the park in silence. Jin couldn't believe how much he was enjoying this. The sun was getting lower, showering the sky with a dark blue color as the city around them lightened up in yellow. The scenery was sweet, romantic even. Jin was happy. Not holding back, he reached for Namjoon's hand. Surprised that Joon took it without hesitation. Instead, the leader pushed their interwined hands into his own pocket. "You're very warm" Jin commented with a little chuckle. Joon gave out a little laugh as well before responding. "Maybe you are too cold" he said with a smile that melted Seokjin.
