Surprise Trip

Y/N POV:

I woke up to the sound of my phone going off... today was the day. I'm finally graduating from high school. It had been a painful past four years but it was finally over.

For the first time in forever I got up at my first alarm and got ready decently fast. I had already laid out my clothes the night before because on the last day of high school I was going to look as hot as possible.

I walked down stairs and was greeted by my mom smiling wider than I thought possible and handing me and envelope.

"What is this" I asked well grabbing it from her Hand.

"It's your graduation gift." She said while grabbing her phone to I'm assuming take a video of my reaction.

I opened it up sorta slowly with a half smile because I wasn't sure what was going on.

"Just open it Y/N" my mom said pushing the envelope closer to me.

At this point I new it had to be good my mom never got this excited, even about things that she likes.

I finally just grabbed the paper inside. It was a plane ticket... to South Korea!

"Wait what? Is this for me!? Am I going to Korea?!??" Was I could get out in between screams.

I've wanted to go to Korea for a long time. I had joined the Korean club when I was in seventh grade and I became fluent in the tenth grade. I had loved watching Kdramas and listening to Kpop. The over all culture was interesting to me since it was almost nothing like America. So this is a dream come true.

"Well I have to go for a business trip because a company wants to talk about getting insurance with me and I need to look at the place first but I decided to take you along for a present and also so I wouldn't have to hire a translator." My mom explained

" when do we leave and when do we come back, if I have to come back." I said

" well You will leave a few days after me since I have to leave tomorrow morning but we are staying the whole summer. You will fly out on Tuesday. Now grab an orange and get going to school you're going to be late." My mom said pushing me out of the house while handing me and orange.

I got into my car and the first thing I did was scream. It hit me, in a few days I will be flying to Korea for a whole summer, A WHOLE SUMMER!"

I then calmed myself down and drove to school. I walked into home room and I guess I was noticeable very happy because my best friend, Eric, looked at me weird

Me and Eric had been best friends since seventh grade, we was and still is the president of the Korea club. He was actually Korean, unlike me. Since I was the only westerner in the club sometimes I felt a little left out but he made me feel welcome.

" did you have crack this morning or something" he said

" no but you won't believe what happened this morning" I explained everything that happened including all the screaming. I even reenacted it for him.

"Wow I so happy for you, but I'm going to miss you." Eric said with a little bit of sadness in his voice.

" Aw I'm going to miss you too! But don't worry I will keep you updated and I will FaceTime you every night!" I said side hugging him.

"Promise?" He said holding out his pinky

"Promise!" I said wrapping my pinking around his.

*time skip*

I just barely made it through the day but finally graduation. I was in front of a crowd of over one hundred people as I walked across the stage to grab the sheet of paper that felt like my key to life. I stepped down and the applause faded.

I didn't pay much attention to the rest of the event because I was too ready to get out of this school and start my life already.

After the event ended I meet up with all my crying relatives. They all had some sappy story to tell me about when I was young and how proud they are of me.

As I was talking to one of my aunts that I didn't even know I had I saw my mom and Eric talking in the corner of my eye.

It's not unusually for my mom to talk to Eric, me and him were like brother and sister and he was always over at my house. I still decided to take this as my way out of talking to my aunt.

As I walked up it seems like they both went completely silent, which concerned me.

"Talking trash I assume?" I said laughing only they didn't laugh and Eric just sorta waved a little and ran off. Now I was completely confused and full of concern.

"What the hell was that?" I said to my mom

"Oh nothing, let's go talk to your uncle Martin" she said changing to topic.

I trust Eric so I know if it was really important he would have told me so I just let it alone and walked back over to my group and talked some more.

After me got home my mom started to tell me our plan for South Korea and what we were doing, where we were staying, etc. etc.

I was so excited I wrote everything down to make sure I didn't forget and I made sure I took very detailed notes about the airport, I've never been on a flight by my self before.

Once we talked through everything a few times she gave me a hug and we both went off to bed, not that I slept much.

Okay so there is the first chapter! I hope you guys enjoyed it. I'm going to try to post as much as possible. Today I think I'm going to post about three more chapters and hopefully I can post everyday or every other day.
