Tarot cards, that was what had brought Keller and Carrie together in the first place. The others had gathered them together at a frat party one Friday night and everyone wanted to play a game they liked to call destiny. Each of the two players were chosen often by the level of noise created by a crowd. They were forced to sit in the two red leather chairs in some dumb jock's basement.

Carrie remembered that night more vividly than the majority of drunkards that surrounded her. Carrie got the devil and Keller got judgment. It really didn't mean much to either of them at that point but looking back Carrie wondered if everything that happened could have been prevented.

Up until that day Carrie had always had a " ready made" concept of who Keller was. She didn't expect much from him, but she knew he was a good guy. Which doesn't explain why everything felt like a bad dream from the moment she woke up in that hospital bed again. Despite this, she wasn't ready to feel helpless yet. She wasn't ready to make assumptions like everyone else did to her when it comes to Keller.

She walked out into the dark hospital corridor in her white foam slippers and gown.

Her mother was long gone but Daryl Marthens sat snoring like a guard dog on the bench outside her room. Carrie took off her slippers and made slow steps from toe to heal. She felt her skin stick to the cold floor and looked straight towards the corner. If she could just get past that corner she would be safe. Her steps slowly got faster and she didn't look back.

Suddenly she heard a voice

"Yes, yes I'm busy Donna get someone else to do it. "

Dr. Crista Greene took off her white lab coat and headed towards Carrie with her head down.

Carrie swept into an open janitor room and held her breath. She counted to 30 and looked outside. To the left of her were  two nurses staring down at their clipboard and to her right was the janitor. Carrie close the door and locked it behind her. She knelt down and held her hands up to her mouth. She waited thirty seconds and finally let go of her breath but as she stretched her legs out from the fetal position she was in she felt her foot kick something warm.

Suddenly she felt a sharp excruciating pain plunged into her stomach. As she felt blood oozing out from her windpipe. Choking on her own blood her scream was muffled by both the draining of her blood and the gag cloth shoved into her throat. After a lifetime of pain and mistreatment Carrie Marthens was finally at peace.
