The Search

"Get your hands off of me!"

I could still hear his viscious voice in my head. That night was unbelievable, that wasn't like Jax....and for his friends to just stand there and laugh....

I laid my head down on the wooden table staring at the bookshelves. I couldn't be out in the hallways without feeling like everyone was staring at me in disgust.

"You okay?"

"I'm fine Jace." I sat up and looked him in the eyes and nearly fell apart.

"No you're not." He reached out towards me to grab my hand but I pulled away.

"Stop!" I gritted my teeth.

"Kal what's wrong?" He began to give me a sad expression.

"You're not real and you need to go away." I kept my eyes down on the table trying not to look at his facial expressions.

"Why are you acting like this?"

"Maybe I just wanna be alone for once." I smartly replied.

"But when you're alone you can't seem to think of anything but me."

My brown orbes shot up and looked around for Jace but he wasn't there anymore. He had vanished. I gave a huge huff and scooted down in my chair. Today was going to be a long day....

The bell had rung for first period, so it was finally time for me to face my fears and walk down the hallway. People were already sharing glances and whispering amongst each other. I stared straight ahead avoiding eye contact with anyone, until I came across my four very concerned friends.

"Kalila!" Ariana called out as she came up to me and gave me a big hug. I returned the offer with a huge smile as well.

"Girl are you okay?" Milo placed his hand on my shoulder and gave me a small smile.

"Yeah I'm fine."

"Well girl we have some big news for you and this is urgent." Shelby began to sound as if she was about to panic.

"What happened?" I furrowed my brow.

"One of our flyers moved to California now we have no one who will be able to do the teddy sit!" Bianca explained, "And we are going to the play offs two weeks from now."

"Woah this is so unexpected." My eyes nearly popped out of my head at this sudden news.

"I mean can you fucking believe it, the bitch left with no warning." Milo rolled his eyes in disgust.

"Okay guys we have to hop on this quickly, we will have try outs after school which Milo and I will host, Shelby and Bianca you guys can recruit people to come and Ariana you can go ahead and ask to include cheerleading try outs in the morning announcements." I ordered.

"Got it." Ariana nodded and headed for the office.

"We shall see you all at lunch." Shelby gave a little salute and turned and walked off with Bianca.

"Alrighty then let's head to first period." Milo smiled.

"Wait let me go to my locker first." I stopped and began to put in my locker combination when I felt a tap on my shoulder.

"Mil-"

I stood face to face with Jaxon.....

He seemed as if he was staring at me with eyes full of regret.

"Oh no sir you can get the hell away from her." Milo stood between us.

"Its fine Milo." I chimed in before Jaxon could reply.
