Minghao's POV

-2 years later-

I was rewatching the vampire drama for the fifth time in a row. I can't help but think about Jun 24/7. I never got to tell him that I like him, more than just a friend. I always wonder if he is doing okay. He seems busy with his acting. I've seen him show up in some movies and TV shows as well. The last time we actually had a decent conversation through text was a year ago. Nowadays, he only has time to say Hi and Bye, even during his lunch break.

I was about to start episode 4 when I got a text message. It was from Jun. It's been a while.

Junie: Hi! How are you doing? Sorry i haven't had much time to text you. My director for my new drama decided to make our lunch break a discussing time while eating. I haven't been about to look at my phone for even 5 minutes in the past year because of him. I really miss you a lot! I hope I could see you again!

MingMing: Hi Jun. it's been a while. I miss you, too! I'm still watching the vampire drama. This is my fifth time watching it. I love it so much and how you look when you act in it. I've seen you in some other movies and TV shows. You cut your hair! You looked so different! I wish I could see you again.

Junie: You might be able to. I'm going to Beijing for a few weeks to record several scenes in the new drama. If I have time, I will ask my manager if I can go to Shanghai for a couple days to see you. I will let you know when it's confirmed.

MingMing: That's amazing! I was afraid that we were drifting apart from being friends. You haven't texted me in so long that I got worried that you forgot about me.

Junie: There's no way I would forget about you. You're my best friend. Oh, I gotta go. I promise I will text you whenever I can. Sorry!

MingMing: Is this really how our friendship works? Are you sure that I'm still your best friend? It feels like you've moved on.

Junie: I'm sorry I have to go now. Bye!

-Junie logged off-

I stared at my phone for a few minutes. What just happened? Did he really just leave me? I don't even know anything anymore. I still know I like him, but suddenly texting me after one year? It feels kinda weird.

I shrugged off the thought and continued watching the drama. The thought kept popping up in my head. "Am I really still his best friend?" I thought. I went to my contacts and found Jun's contact. I swiped it to the left, showing the delete button. My thumb hovered over it. I hesitated before pushing the button and crying in my pillow.

Jun's POV

I gave up on acting a while ago. After my experience in Beijing, I decide that I've been doing acting for so long now. To take a break, I went to Korea. I heard a lot of people talking about kpop at the studio. I got curious and came to Korea to find out more about it. I never thought that I would end up one of the people trying out for a kpop group.

I sat on the bed of my hotel room. My eyes wandered the room until it landed on my phone. Suddenly, I thought of Minghao. I lost contact with him a while ago. I don't know how, but my messages wouldn't send. I looked through the text messages I sent him.

Junie: Hey Minghao! I'm sorry I wasn't able to visit Shanghai while I was working in Beijing. I was too busy to have free time. My schedule was jam packed. (Message not delivered)

Junie: I was bummed because I really wanted to see you. My manager said we didn't have enough time to make visits. (Message not delivered)

Junie: I have to go. Please text me when you receive these. I feel lonely without you. (Message not delivered)

Junie: Hi! I hope you're doing well. Please respond! I feel lonely without someone to talk to. (Message not delivered)

Junie: I gave up on acting a couple weeks ago. It's too stressful for me to handle now. I can't juggle my time when it's acting 24/7. (Message not delivered)

Junie: I really wanna see you! (Message not delivered)

Junie: Guess what? I'm in Korea! I arrived a couple days ago and tried out for a kpop band. I'm really hoping I get in. When you see me on TV, I hope you smile and make me smile on TV. (Message not delivered)

I looked at the last text message I sent to Minghao. It was a couple week ago. He hasn't responded to my text messages from the past three years. I'm starting to wonder if something happened to him. Maybe I'm overreacting. Maybe he's busy with a job and hasn't had time to rest. Maybe his phone lost all its memory. I just hoped it wasn't something really bad like he deleted my number.

There was a knock on my hotel door. I opened it and saw the delivery man at my door, holding a letter. I took it, thanking him in Korean. Yep. I learned Korean. I'm not fluent, but it's decent enough to understand it. I eagerly opened the letter after closing the door. It says its from Pledis Entertainment. I took a deep breath and opened the letter.

Dear Wen Junhui,
We are sending you this letter to inform you that you have made it into a
Kpop group. They are called 'Seventeen' and they are currently in their trainee years. They're planned debut date is March 16,2013. We would like you to meet them in a conference on November 08, 2012. You and another member will be introduced. Please be at the Pledis Entertainment building at 5:00PM. We advise you to pack everything you have, for you will be living with them for the while during predebut. I hope you enjoy the rest of your day.

Sincerely,
Pledis Entertainment

I whipped out my phone from my pocket and decided to text Minghao about it. I was too happy that I actually got put in a kpop group!

Junie: Hey! I know you may not see this, but if you do, I want to let you know that I made it into a kpop band called 'Seventeen.' If you see me on TV with Seventeen, I really hope it makes you happy. (Message not delivered)

I turned my phone off and decided to pack everything that was spread out in the hotel room. I wonder what Minghao is doing now. I wonder if he is still in Shanghai. I suddenly came to a realization: I never told him that I thought of him more than just a best friend.

So second chapter is up!!! Yes... this escalated quickly. I was originally gonna split this into two chapters because of the time gaps, but then I decided not to because then one would be too short. Welp... here is a cringy piece of writing.
