-Jun's POV-
i woke Minghao up from his sleeping slumber to tell him we landed in China.
"Minghao... wake up. we're here," i said quietly as his eyes slowly fluttered opened.
"huh? what? where am i?" he said. i chuckled at his sleepy self.
"we arrived in China," i told him. he rubbed his eyes and stretched a bit. "we're about to get off the plane."
"mm," he hummed. he was about to fall asleep again, but i shook him awake to make sure he doesn't. "i'm up! i'm up!"
i chuckle once again as we get our bags from the overhead bin. Minghao's mom met us at the gate we got off at.
"so... we're staying a week here. your dad's funeral will be tomorrow. after that, you guys have the rest of the week to explore. you guys haven't been here in a while, and even then, some things changed," Mrs. Xu said.
"i don't think it changed that much, mom," Minghao said as we checked out of the airport.
-
we arrived at the hotel we would be staying at and got our rooms. Minghao and i got a room while Mrs. Xu got a room somewhere across the hall.
"127... 127... oh here it is," Minghao said as we entered our room. Mrs. Xu's room was 181, so it wasn't too far.
we walked inside as i closed the door behind us. we looked around and took a breath.
"hey, Minghao. this hotel reminds me of our trip to the Great Wall and we stayed at a cabin nearby with Chenle and Renjun in middle school. remember?" i asked.
"yeahhh! i remember!! that was one of the best times of my life honestly. i loved that trip i wish we could go again," Minghao said as he started taking things out of his suitcase.
"why not go when we have time after the funeral?" i asked as Minghao's eyes enlightened with excitement.
"really?" he asked. i nodded my head as he started jumping up and down slightly from the excitement inside him. i chuckled as i started to take things out of my suitcase.
"hey, Jun?" Minghao said. "do you have a water boiler?"
"no, but there's one of the desk over there," i said as i pointed to the other side of the room.
on top of the desk was a water boiler, a lamp, a charging station, and a bag of cookies that was from the front desk. Minghao went over to the water boiler and started heating up some water he brought in a plastic container.
"why are you boiling water?" i asked.
"i brought some cup ramen. i'm hungry and i want food. you want some?" Minghao asked.
"i'm not really hungry. you think we can share one?" i asked.
"sure. i can't finish it all anyway."
"okay," i said. i started taking out clothes and shoes from my bag and put them in the closet. "Minghao, you brought jackets right?"
"yes. why?" he asked.
"just making sure. China's much colder than Korea, so i wanted to make sure you didn't freeze," i said. i heard him hum as a response.
i grabbed some hangers from the closet and started to hang up some of my clothes and jackets. Minghao joined me and hung up some of his stuff. after that, he went back to the boiler and poured the water into the ramen container.
"why do you have two?" i asked.
"i thought my mom would want some, so i'm gonna go take one to her," he said.
i nodded my head as he left the room. i went back to taking things out of my suitcase and changed into a different outfit.
ft. Minghao (honestly i love this picture)
when i came out, Minghao was back and i saw that he also changed his outfit, probably while i was in the bathroom changing. (same outfit as above ft. Jun)
"you're back," i said as he saw me come out of the bathroom. "ready to eat?"
"yep," he said as he took a seat. we turned on the tv and searched through channels to find something to watch. i stopped on a channel that was playing my drama.
"let's watch that," Minghao said as i shrugged. "it's been a while since i've seen it."
"and it's been a while since i've acted in it. oh my gawd i look so young," i said as Minghao laughed.
we watched the drama as we ate the ramen in the container. every once in a while, we would look at each other's eyes and get lost in them, but otherwise, we had a good rest of the day.
word count: 785
welp... here's the update i was talking about. i have no idea how many times i typed in lamyeon for ramen because thats how we pronounce it in korea. honestly idek if i romanized it correctly because i can't read or write romanized words (for any language).
btw in this chapter, i'm basing it off of a three day field trip i went to at my old school. it was fun and i wanna go again. yes i was in a cabin with three of my other friends and yes, my friend and i did share a cup of ramen and yes, there was a water boiler in the room (i'm pretty sure that wasn't rly safe) and no, we did not have a tv in the cabin and no, we did not get lost into each other's eyes because we're literally nothing but friends.
it was so fun i really wanna go again but like 8th grade day, it only comes once in a lifetime.
anyway, hope y'all have/had a good day. i sure didn't. but that's not important. see y'all in the next update.
