Today is my favorite holiday!!! I'm so excited for today. It's been so long since I have spent a Christmas with my best friend. I look next to me and see him sleeping peacefully. I turn over and check my phone. I also scroll through Instagram as well just to pass a little time.

@ avaejones: why didn't you smile?! @ mathhewdaddario.

"Babe, I saw your comment and I'm offended" I hear Matthew say as I jump from being startled.
We both take our showers and get ready for the day. Once we are both dressed, we head back over to Matthew's parents house. It's only around 8 a.m. so I'm still tired, but also excited.
We eventually arrive and greet everyone. It's so nice to all be together again.

@ avaejones: Matthew is somewhere around the house, but Merry Christmas everyone!!@ Matthewdaddario: I'm waiting under the mistletoe of course

@ emeraudetoubia: @ matthewdaddario you're such a dork. Merry Christmas, Ava!!! I miss you and you look beautiful.
@ harryshumjr: Merry Christmas, Ave!!
@ kitskatmeow: I miss you!! Merry Christmas!!
@ isaiahmustafa: barfing at Matt's comment. But Merry Christmas!

I smile as I read the comments from the friends I've truly grown to love. Matthew then pops out of the kitchen with a piece of ham.
"Will there even be any food left for us?" I ask laughing.
"No. Probably not. I wouldn't count on it" he answers back.
Christina then pops out behind him and fusses "Matthew don't come back in here until I say you can!"
I can't help but bust out laughing. Our 23 year old boy still managing to get in trouble by his mom.
About 20 minutes pass when there's a knock on the door. My family comes in and it's such a strange thing, but I'm never not excited to see them. I hug my little brother and my parents and we all get around the tree.
We continue to open presents and I'm genuinely so grateful for all of mine. My parents got me a ton of school supplies which warms my heart because I couldn't ask for anything better. I want my kids to have the best.

Dinner time eventually rolls around and Matthew couldn't be more excited. He absolutely loves his moms turkey and he always talks about it. We eat and make small talk and we really just enjoy the time we have together as two close families. It's not often we get together and before this trip I hadn't seen his family in a while. I missed them and I of course missed my own.

But all good things eventually come to an end. The trip quickly does as we were only staying until the 26th. This is so we have time to get back before the New Year's Eve traffic begins. It gets so crazy here for obvious reasons. We all hug goodbye and Jess, Matt, and I board the plane back to Los Angeles.
"I said I would have the window seat on the way back but I love you so much that you can have it" Matthew states.
I laugh and we argue about who should get it, but it eventually is me.
"It's crazy how fast this trip went by" I say with sadness in my voice from the realization of how much I would miss my family and my home.
"I know, baby. But we will come back. It's our home". Our. I love him. The plane begins to take off. We should land around 9:30 pm. I quickly fall asleep cuddled up to the love of my life.
