Chapter 4:Marinette Vs. Ladybug

Adrien's POV

I realized by the scared look on Marinette's face, that I fucked up. I immediately got off of her and gave a sheepish smile. When she sat up all the way and went to the other side of the bed, I faked a laugh. I had to play it cool.
"I got you, Purrrrrincess! You should have seen your face." I kept fake laughing hoping she wouldn't notice that I was playing it off.
She pouted sexily. "Idiot."
"But seriously, I need to know everything about her. Every detail." I replied.
"Nope."
"What the hell do you mean 'Nope'?"
"I mean, you can't just waltz in here and ask me how I am, then get on top of me and make me think tonight I'm going to get raped, then tell me to tell you details about a superhero's identity." She whisper screamed.
"Well, Danm, I didn't think of it that way." I looked down at my lap embarrassed that I hurt my lady.
"Its just. . .Ladybug and I are kind of alike." She looked everywhere but my face.
'No shit Sherlock.' Is all I could think. But if I said that, she would know that I knew. So instead I said, "How so?"
"Well. . .she's actually kind of insecure. She's supposed to be his amazing superhero that everybody knows and cherishes. B-but. . ." She trailed off.
"But what?" I asked, the suspense taking away years of my life.
"But she's. . . She's just not as great as everybody assumes."
"Hm?" I decide to get more comfortable. I can sense a long rant coming on.
"She's pretty much a coward. She puts on that huge, grand, proud, fearless facade so people won't question her. You know, in her civilian form, she is probably the clumsiest person you would know." She laughs a little to herself. "She told me that when you first met, she hit you in the head with her yo-yo. The girl couldn't use a freaking yo-yo! Everyone at her school watches her constantly trip over her feet, fall down the stairs, walk into things, and. . .you get the gist. And if you think she's confident, you should see her in front of her crush. The girl can't mutter a single word to him. He's just so hot and nice and cute and funny and smart and cool and. . .and. . .and I'm ranting on about him, aren't I?" She laughs at herself and I can only smile fondly at her. "She tells me about stupid things she does, and doesn't even realize that she does them. The truth about her is, she'd rather be her civilian form all the time. She absolutely hates having people look up to her. She thinks that-"

"That's enough." I say. I don't like to hear this from m'lady or Marinette. I feel that Marinette bringing herself down is not good, even though Hawkmoth wants her to suffer. I certainly don't want my lady or Mari to suffer.

"You realize Ladybug is amazing. She may be a bit insecure, but who isn't. I love that she can be open about her insecurities." Though Marinette didn't realize it, I wasn't just complimenting my lady, but her as well. Not in the sense that they are the same person, but I felt like I was liking Marinette even more than before. "Thank you again for telling me." I placed a gloved hand onto her already stiff shoulder.

"Y-you're welcome?" She replied shakily. I could've sworn I saw a little blush I  the low light of her bedroom.

"Now I think I shall take my leave." I stood up from her bed and ran to the hatch. "Good night, Purrincess." With that I ran off into the night. I smiled at the night that I spent with my lady.

"YOU IDIOT! WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU!?!?!" A furious Hawkmoth screamed. I stopped in my tracks.

"Hawkmoth, I can explain." I told him, afraid of what he might do to me.

"YOUR JOB IS NOT TO EXPLAIN HOW YOU FUCKED UP! YOU JOB IS NOT TO SOCIALIZE WITH THE ENEMY! YOUR JOB IS TO TAKE HER MIRACULOUS AND DELIVER IT TO ME!"

"Y-you obviously don't know my plan." I tried to cover. I prayed that he wouldn't  press for details. . .but I have terrible luck.

"What plan is that?" He had calmed down.

"I-I'm tricking her. What better way to hurt her than to hurt her after we get close." I exclaimed.

"Hmmmm. . .interesting. I guess that would work!" He announced. "You are doing pretty good! So tomorrow you can take her Miraculous!"

"Um. . . I think I may need a little more time to get close to her." I tried to push for more time with her. "We kind of bonded tonight, but she still doesn't trust me with her life. I need to get to the point where she will hand herself to me without a doubt in her mind."

Silence was all I heard.

"Fine. But I need my Miraculous soon. Gain the trust you want." He finished.

"Yes, Sir."

More time with Marinette was going to be fun! I needed to hold off on taking her Miraculous. I could never hurt Ladybug or Marinette. The love of my life.
