The first story begins with Gwendolyn the girl with the power to cause morose. This isn’t her real power but a mere affect of it. Gwendolyn’s true power is foresight, specifically the time of someone's death. She confides with no one at least with living. Every time she saw a vision she traveled to the unfortunate souls death with words of sorrow.
The first vision she ever saw was a toddler named Susan. Susan is playing with her mother on the front yard. The mother throws the ball at susan and it bounced on the street. Susan goes after it. Blood splatters on Gwendolyn and Susan’s Mother.
Gwendolyn can’t stop it; she never could. It causes her great grief to see people die twice, once in visions once in reality. At last she sees one final vision before her powers faded away. This vision was the only one that brought her joy. She doesn’t need to travel for the soul to secede from its body, she is that body. Then with a tear of euphoria she crumples.
