A/N: Sorry that this update took so long. I struggle with mental health and was trying to make sure that I was in a good mental state before I wrote anything, I needed sometime to myself to heal for a little. I hope you guys understand.
ASHANTI
I wasn't expecting him to agree to me that easily and by the concerned expression on his face I didn't think he was expecting to agree either. He was wringing his hands on his lap and redness had already begun to creep on his cheeks and immediately I was overcome with guilt.
"You don't have to tell me Harry." I sighed. "I'm really sorry I pressured you, thats really selfish."
"Ashanti don't make this harder for me." He huffed.
I didn't have any words so I nodded and leaned back into my chair and got prepared to listen to whatever he had to say.
"The reason why I'm afraid to be in the spotlight is because I've already been in the spotlight. My family has been in the spotlight and it wasn't necessarily positive." He still hadn't opened his eyes and I was so desperate for the contact. I wanted him to look at me, but I knew I couldn't push him and I just had to accept the distance that was between us right now. "You probably haven't heard of us because we were mainly famous in the UK, and I know you're just starting up. But my father is Ken Styles, CEO of Styles Enterprises."
And right there it clicked in my mind and I knew exactly what he was talking about. Styles Enterprises was one of the largest investment companies to exist in the UK and suddenly after the big booming years of the company, Ken Styles was shot. Immediately my heart sank, "Harry." I pleaded, wanting him to stop.
"Just listen." He choked, finally looking up at me with red brimmed eyes. "I grew up with cameras and private jets and getting all of the materialistic items I could get, but I saw what that did to a person. I watched my dad struggle and become corrupt. The reason he got murdered was because he was getting involved with gangs in the London area in order to obtain more money and power. He put me and my mum and my sister in danger for more money. That what it was always about. Money and power.
It got out of control Ashanti, our whole entire family was spiraling out of control. He was cheating on my mom and our relationship got worse. He was training me for the sole purpose of continuing the business and the only contact I ever had with him was business or it was physical. He would shut my mom off from because he didn't want me getting distracted. When he got murdered, I sold the company and I wiped my hands of it all. I couldn't step into that office without thinking about the punches to the face or degrading words I had received in there."
He sighed and closed his eyes slowly, "The spotlight ruined my family, and it almost ruined me. I don't think I can go through that again."
I put my hand on his leg, "Harry look at me." I begged.
He looked up at me with watery eyes, and flushed cheeks and in that moment i saw a little small version of him cowering at the sight of his father. "I'm really sorry Harry. I didn't know all of that and if I did I wouldn't have pushed you like that. You don't have to do anything you don't want to."
He nodded his head and quietly whispered, "I want to spend time with you. I want to be that person you can depend on, I just don't want to ruin it."
Before I could speak I noticed a flash out of the corner of my eyes and my head darted to the man dressed in all black standing on the other side of the window.
"Fuck." I groaned. "They're here."
Harry followed my eyes and he landed on the man who was now on his phone most likely contacting more people. "We have to get out of here." He said.
Before I could protest he pulled cash out of his wallet and tossed it onto the table as I texted my driver to pull up behind the restaurant ASAP. We went up to the counter, explained the situation and were immediately ushered in the back of the restaurant. As soon as the door was thrown open I was greeted by paparazzi mixed with screaming fans. I was at awe at how quickly the word at spread of my presence.
I quickly shut the door and looked at Harry feeling immediately overwhelmed. I took a deep breath before breaking the plan down for him, "This is what we have to do. I will go outside to the car first, and it will probably calm down considering a lot of them don't know much about you yet. Once I text you, come out to the car through the front since most of them will be in the back because of me. Got it?"
He nodded his head and I tried to ignore the knot in my stomach from his shift in energy since we first got in the car. I grabbed his hand and squeezed it gently before swinging the door open and putting on my best smile even when I felt the farthest from it. I was met with screams and camera flashes and as I walked down the middle of the crowd I tried to stop and take as many selfies as I could with the fans that were waiting for me.
The smiles on their faces and the way that they jumped up and down with excitement just for a simple picture and hug from me was enough to distract me from the sad mood that I was in. After awhile I made it through the swarm of people only to be met by my angry bodyguard who scolded me for not calling him earlier as I texted Harry that the coast was clear.
When I finally reach the car and plopped down onto the cool leather seats Harry was next to me tapping away on his phone, his eyebrows pulled together in concentration. He didn't acknowledge my presence at all as my driver pulled away and headed back to our hotel. I rested my head against the window and began envisioning my set list for tonight in my head.
"Ash." Harry said softly, placing his hand on my thigh. The coolness of his rings on my thigh caused me to shiver and look up at him. "I'm sorry okay? I know today is a special day and I should've saved this conversation and my attitude for another time. Its just hard for me-"
I interrupted him with a soft kiss to his lips before wrapping my arms around his solid one and closed my eyes, he sighed in what seemed to be defeat and we rode the rest of the way in silence.

Once we arrived back to the hotel everything happened in a whirlwind. I was whisked away from Harry to do hair and makeup and my manager assured me that he would be there at the arena when we arrived but that we were in a rush and having a sexy British man around would just be distracting.
I responded to some messages and followed some people back on twitter as my braids were touched up and falling down my back and my make up was done with a glowing finish. Once that was done I was put into tight black leather paired with a lacy black bra with a gold sheer crop top over it.
When we arrived at the festival my nerves automatically kicked up. The stage was huge and I could already hear the giant crowd that had already accumulated from the acts before. I was interrupted from my anxious thoughts when I felt two hands pinch my sides causing me to squeal and turn around.
When Harry's eyes landed on me his eyes widened, redness climbing onto his cheeks, "W-wow." He stammered, "You look amazing."
His reaction gave me the boost of confidence that I didn't realize I needed so much and I smiled at him, "Thank you. I'm so nervous I could pee."
He chuckled slightly and slid his hands into the pocket of his jeans, "You're going to do great."
Suddenly a man wearing a headset put his hand on my shoulder telling me to listen to my signal and before I knew it I was out on the biggest stage I had ever performed on.
