Good evening dear readers :)

So this is the very last Chapter on MHN. I really enjoyed to write this little story, first of all because the plot is about something which plays even nowadays a big role in our society... However from my point of view being a suffragette is a part of Hilal's soul and fits to her perfectly. I just hope I could tell this story accordingly without being arrogated.

A big thank you to you all for joining me on this journey, especially to those who never failed to vote or leave a comment <3 :)

Sincerely,

Nightingale the Blue

Touch has a memory. O say love, say,

What can I do to kill it and be free in my old liberty? (...)

How shall I do to get anew

Those moulted feathers, and so mount once more above, above

The reach of fluttering Love...

John Keats

Hilal closed her eyes as the wind whirled her hair. Some of the blond strands caressed her face. The young woman took a deep breath, enjoying the fresh chill on her skin- it remembered her to his touches... Opening her closed eyes she faced the silver lining on the horizon. The morning hours, this time of the day was different- the rising sun, the awakening life promised something new. This was the time of hope. Two weeks had passed since Leon had left. Her heart did no longer agree to tolerate anything between them. A day after the bleak incident at the port, Hilal had looked for Andreas everywhere. He surely would know about the whereabouts of his superior. She did not know what to say exactly, yet to wait idly was not her way of doing things. As Hilal finally had found the Constable and heard his words, a tremble of relief had seized her. Leon had not left for good; He would come back.

From there on Hilal counted the days for him to return- yet, she dreaded it more than anything else, too. Maybe he would be angry with her or worse he would be indifferent? She did not like to think of the fact that he may refuse to speak to her. Frowning at those thoughts, the woman knew that she could not be angry if he did. Agitated, she wished her forehead with the back of her hand. Come back to me... raising her eyebrows in distress, she could no longer feel the touch of the wind nor the cold air.

Leon watched a new day breaking. For two weeks he was here now, two weeks away from her. A smile played around the corner of his mouth as he thought of the conversation with his mother. Veronika had noticed that something bothered her son, the moment he had stepped out of the ship. But knowing Leon very well, the woman had waited for the right moment to ask him. That moment had not come before the day of his departure.

"So, she captured the heart of my son even without realizing it?" Veronika said mischievously. A knowing smile appeared on her lips as she saw the reaction of her son.

"Well, I guess one could say that... She took my heart unaware." An annoyed pitch resonated in his voice which vanished as he saw the soothing face of his mother.

"Tell me more about her. I want to hear more about this woman, who made my son put a whole sea between them."

Where to begin? Leon did not know. The question sounded ordinary in his ears but still- Every uttered word would be insufficient when it came to her. He pressed his lips together as he said: "You could ask me about the moon, and I would tell you that it orbits our planet; That it takes around 28 days to do so, or I could explain you the lunar phases- from the new moon to the full moon... Yet none of those would describe its beauty or the spell it casts upon you when you look at it; On a lonely night it promises you shelter or helps you, to find your way while enlightening the dark corners of your being, you didn't know that it exists... But just as the moon she is unreachable for me- She is strong, independent"
