"Dani, I need you to cover my shift on Thursday." Skylar said.
Dani sat behind the register chewing her gum obnoxiously loud.
"Why do I have to do it?" she snorted.
"Because Michael can't do it and you're the only other employee."
She clicked her acrylic nails. "I'm sorry, wheht? You two just so happen to schedule time off at the same time so you can dump all the work on me. WOW. Unbelievable."
"Dani, you worked like 4 hours this week and you took an hour break every day to change your Bitmoji to match your look that day. I'm really not asking for much."
"No, forget it I'm not doing anything for you ever again."
"You never did anything for me-"
"DON'T INTERRUPT ME, YOU IGNORANT SLUT." Dani snapped.
Isaac peeked his out of his office.
"Hey we talkin' about my ex wife? Ahaha, she was such a bitch. Anyways, why are you yelling Dani?"
"Skylar and Mitchell-"
"It's Michael."
"DON'T INTERRUPT ME! Skylar and that nobody purposely made it so I have to work alone on Thursday."
Isaac thought for a moment, leaning back into his chair.
"Well...you do know that it's like a job requirement to actually...you know...work. God knows that you don't do that when they're around. What exactly do you do anyways?".
"You know what! I QUIT! My talents are appreciated elsewhere and your bad vibes got me stressin'. Dani out!" Her chonky legs stormed out of the store.
"I never did like her. A bit of a diva. Like Marilyn Monroe." Isaac remarked.
"Don't do Marilyn dirty like that." Skylar responded. Isaac chuckled but then his face turned serious.
"Thank you for sticking around this long. Things aren't looking too good for this old shack. I got real-estate agents peaking through the window to see if we've closed down yet. Like hawks circling a tiny baby rabbit. Or a very large rat." It fell silent again as he nodded his head slowly, probably lost in thought.
"Since Dani is gone, who will cover Thursday?" Skylar interjected. Isaac snapped back to reality.
"Oh, uh, yikes I didn't even think about that. I got my stupid nephew's confirmation on Friday, so I need a whole day to get wasted enough so I astral project throughout the whole ceremony. So I guess it's up to you or Michael to decide who takes the L."
Skylar knew she could never ask Michael to cancel his gig. His band really hit it big time- The Beef Barn. She knew what she had to do.
