*Quick note: readers, this chapter is going to be a little different than the others. I might flick back and forth between the two types of storytelling perspectives. this chapter begins with a time jump of approximately 10 months to a year later*
*Aubrey's POV*
Our big day had finally arrived as I rolled over to turn off the beeping box. I personally couldn't wait to see my brunette in the gorgeous white dress she had picked out. I rolled over to see Stacie's brown curls sprawled out across her pillow. As I watched her sleep my face lit up I could feel my smile getting bigger by the second.
*5 minutes later*
"Good morning fiance" she told me sleepily and then yawned.
"I can't wait for today" I exclaim with a big grin on my face. I leaned in for a soft, gentle kiss when we heard the door slam open. I sit up to find Chloe with the biggest grin on her face standing in the doorway watching the exchange between us play out.
Looking toward Chloe, I question "What's going on?"
Chloe grins even wider and exclaims "It's time to get you out of bed and ready for your big day"
At this point, I was already sitting up in bed and so was Stacie who had decided that at this point in time, all she wanted to do was scroll through her Instagram feed. I decided to crawl out of the warm and comfortable bed that Stacie and I shared. I quickly shuffled into my slippers and dressing gown. The first stop today was the coffee machine, I desperately needed coffee because I had only got 3-5 hours of sleep due to the fact I had to create the Bella's choreography for the ICCA nationals.
I instantly headed for the shower and I stank just as stinky as a piglet in a barn. I slowly turned the water faucets on and jumped under the running hot water. It felt so good to feel the water stream down my face. In between washing my hair, I take the time to reflect on our relationship and how far we have come. I remember the first time we met, at the activities fair and the on-campus coffee shop.
I remember that moment like it was yesterday.
*Flashback*
Standing in the autumn wind, clutching onto flyers hoping we could find a team before the acapella competitions started for the year. I watch a curious brunette wander from stall to stall before stopping in front of ours and asking for a flyer, curious about the program and what the Bella entailed.
Our next point of contact was at the auditions, where Stacie sang "Since You Been Gone" beautifully, even though some questionable hand movements were made while on stage. At that moment, I couldn't help but be inspired by her confidence and fearlessness.
God, falling for that woman changed my life for the better and I wouldn't have it any other way.
*Stacie's POV*
I slept soundly until I heard Aubrey talking to a familiar voice I hear every week at rehearsal. I couldn't wait for today and to marry my Aubrey, my person since I joined the Bella's. I slowly inch my way out of bed to walk down the stairs to the main kitchen in the house. As I am walking downstairs I spot a few of my best friends drinking coffee. I pour myself a hot and steamy glass of coffee. I couldn't believe the sight when I came down the stairs, girls getting their hair done whilst others were chatting and drinking mimosas.
"Good Morning Stacie, Big day today!" Jessica exclaimed.
I agreed and went on my way to make myself breakfast and waited for the person who I arranged to do my hair and makeup. My hair was going to be something like my mum's hair when she got married. I wouldn't know what Aubrey would look like and what she was wearing. We had both agreed on 3 bridesmaids each meaning, Aubrey had 3 and I had 3.
*15 Minutes Later*
As I sat on my bed and watched the fabulous woman do my hair and makeup as Beca, Chloe and Jessica talked about real-world issues. Our state was just new to the whole LGBTQ community and different sexuality. The girls and I were finishing our courses at college. My hair and makeup were done and as well as the other girls were getting their final touches.
Beca, Chloe and I went into the massive walk-in wardrobe to find their bridesmaids' dresses that had the cutest baby blue colour on them. They slipped the dresses on and then helped me into my elegant white dress that covered the whole length of my body. I've always wanted to be a bride and now I get to be one. The girls helped me out the front door to find a stunning white Jaguar Mk5 with 2 pink ribbons on the front. We climbed into the car and my nerves started to kick in.
