You open your eyes, and warm greenleaf sun soaks into your small pelt. You hear your siblings and denmates rustling around in their nests. You look up to see your mother's dark gray tabby head resting on her paws. She is still asleep--unlike you, whose tiny paws are sparking with energy. You nudge your mother with one paw, but she doesn't awaken. After a couple more attempts, you give up, and turn to your two siblings, who are still slumbering as well. You want to play, but you're not sure if you should wake them.
