Audrey's POV

______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

"Oh my god, Brooke, what did you do?!" I begin running my fingers through my hair, but then I feel my claws coming out. I shove my hands into my pockets and try to stay calm.

Halo gets out of the body bag and stands up, she looks back towards the bag, confused.

Halo is wearing a pure white dress, she is an angel. A pink flower crown sits around her long blonde hair. It's her own halo. Her skin glows like sunlight from the sky.

"Why is there two of me?" She looks at her former self, then back at her new self. She puts her hand through her stomach and laughs.

"I didn't do anything!" Brooke confesses, "All I know is that she died in a car accident, and now she's back!"

"Halo," Brooke turns to her, "Did God bring you back?"

Halo looks confused, nods, and then she points at herself, "Me?"

"Yes you," I say, "You're Halo Evergreen! Did you suddenly forget everything that's happened?"

Halo slowly nods, and asks, "Who are you people?"

"I'm Audrey Lawrence," I say, and point my finger at Brooke, "That's Brooke Paige."

"And I'm Halo?" Halo asks Brooke.

"Yes!" Brooke yells, "C'mon, we have to get out of here."

Brooke grabs Halo's arm and pulls her out, speed walking in an attempt to get out of the hospital.

I pull my hands around the fabric of my sweatshirt as Halo and Brooke leave in a glowing blur. How can they walk so fast?

I run to catch up as my stress levels keep multiplying.

I should leave, My conscience tells me, I can't let anyone know about my secret.

I shake off my thoughts, and look around, Brooke and Halo are gone.

C'mon, I tell myself, How'd you lose track of a girl that glows?

Then I see a glimmer down the staircase of the hospital. I open up the doors downstairs, and run down. I catch up to them.

"How do you too run so fast?"

Both of them shrug.

"We'll meet you at your truck." Brooke says, and before I can reply they take off again, open the exit of hospital and run around the parking lot to try to find my truck. They find it and wait for me to unlock it.

I smile, and pull my keys out my pocket. With a jingle, I unlock my old blue Chevy Pick-up truck. Both Brooke and Halo hop in the back seat, but then they jump back out. I think they forgot about the July heat of Michigan. It's not fun to be in a car when it's 90 degrees Fahrenheit outside and you can't control the air conditioning.

I smile and walk to my truck. I jump inside the driver's seat and start it up. It coughs and shutters. Then it starts to purr.

I drive to my house, still feeling stressed and exhausted. My best friend just died and then got sent back by God as an angel.

My stress level reaches its peak, and I can't control it anymore. My dragon form is coming through.
