The Future

Really, anything can happen in the future. For all we know, the world will have flying cars and magic carpets or surgery available that makes a person look exactly like someone in an anime.

For all we know...Lissette and Seth could be a married couple.

Or maybe not.

Who knows.

But...

if they were...

what would happen?

**14 years in the future**

**Lissette and Seth are married**

"Seth! Where's Ellie?" Lissette calls.

A little girl, about 3 years old, scrambles out of the kitchen. Her long brown hair is covered in flour and he bright blue eyes shine brightly.

Behind her, coming from the kitchen a few moments later, is Seth, who is also covered in flour.

"What...happened?" Lissette chuckles softly.

"Um, we were baking you a cake." Seth says.

"Aww," Lissette smiles. "How cute!"

Ellie climbs onto the couch, enjoying the comfy new pillows that they bought yesterday.

Lissette shrieks. "Get off the couch!! Flour takes forever to get out! Go outside! Out! Out!"

She practically shoves Seth and Ellie out the door and dashes to get the vacuum.

"Well then. I guess it's just you and me, Ellie!"

Seth smiles warmly as he lifts his daughter up and spins her around.

The air is filled with wonderful laughs.

As Seth sets Ellie down on the soft green grass, he looks over to see Lissette walking onto the patio.

In her hands are 2 glasses of iced tea, perfect for drinking on this hot Summer day.

"Hey! You two! I have drinks!" Lissette calls out.

Ellie, who absolutely loved tea, ran toward her mother to get her glass. Seth followed.

"Isn't she the cutest thing?" Lissette asks.

"Yeah she is. I mean, look at that smile!" Seth replies.

Ellie knew that her parents were talking about her, so she went ahead and smiled her famous smile.

"Guess what else I've got for us, Ellie!"

Lissette runs inside and comes back with 3 small cold containers.

Gelato!

And...not just any gelato.

Ellie's eyes sparkle as Lissette hands out the containers to each of them. And she also hands out 3 spoons.

Seth opens Ellie's Gelato and they start eating.

As they ate, they watched as birds made a nest in their tree. The pond in their backyard glistened as the rays from the sun fell upon it.

The garden was filled with beautiful butterflies and their backyard was filled with color. It was a perfect day to spend outside with their family. It was a perfect day to spend with each other.

Perfect.

Just perfect.
