Luke was a rather fortunate child, born in the wealthiest, most powerful family ever in the history of Earth. His parents- Malcolm and Nomie- owned 3 continents: North America, Australia and Africa along with a part of Europe- Western Europe to be exact. How they became so rich is a mystery but one thing's for sure, they're a force to be reckoned with.
Luke never went to school. At a tender age of 2, his father secretly had his top scientists conduct experiments on him, behind his mother's back, to allow him to use 10% more of the brains power than the normal average human. The experiments exceeded their expectations as it inhanced his mental abilities by a staggering 75% more than what was expected. He became a hybrid with a few alterations. He acquired abilities such as photographic memory, immense pain tolerance and inhanced sense of smell, sight and hearing, but these weren't deifying abilities. He was still human and grew up normally without any glitches and or side effects . In fact, as far as everyone else- including Luke himself- knew, Luke was just a very gifted child who mastered all the languages and had a mathematical and historical understanding that far surpassed professors. At the age of 17, his intellectual potency was put to the test when he had to compete with the world's top academics, only to top them all in every examination. Only Malcolm and his scientists knew what they had done and it was a secret they were going to take with them to their grave along with a few other projects. On his eighteenth birthday, his mother decided that it would be healthy for him to venture out into the world, learning new things and experiencing the wonders of the world at first hand so that he can be well acquainted with the nation he would one day lead into a greater era. And so, he was sent out into the world with a personal assistant- whom he later fell in love with- and a dozen undercover mercenaries only known by his butler and assistant. As she leaned in for a kiss, the door of the SUV suddenly opened, the bright light leapt into the car along with an intense humid air. That moment came to an end faster than it came to be- something that always seemed to happen. He sighed then made his way out of the vehicle. She followed. It seemed so busy- as always- people rushing in while others rushing out, every nine in ten persons formally dressed, almost never children walking with or by their parents. The only children you'd see at this airport were little boys and girls formally dressed, accompanied by their bodyguards, going to a meeting, standing in for their too busy parents. It disgusted him, this city. As they walked in, he felt the sense of urgency hit him like a bullet train. The loud sounds of fingers hastily bashing against the cellphone screens, the thick scent of makeup and cologne designed to impress-or better yet, deceive- the very shallow and desperate. All mixed with the sound of opinionated people screaming at whatever employee who was unfortunate enough to cross their paths: "I want to see your manager this very instant young man!"
"Do you know who I am!"
"This ring is enough to pay for whatever student loans that led you to work at this rotten port, you hear me?!"
Anorchy everywhere. Panick filled his lungs and it found no way out. That's when he felt her soft palm gently embracing his. Sanity returned and order was restored, once more.
They made their way to one of the ports, she holding his hand as they progressed to their jet which flew them straight out of the concrete Eden of Cuba and onto a more lush environment of Cape Town, South Africa. The meeting was brief.
"I had to travel all this way, just to read and sign a document? What happened to me enjoying life around the world, huh? Bunch of liars!",he said putting his hoodie back on as they went down the elevator of the 90 storey scraper.
"Aaaw Lu.", she said wrapping her arms around his. "If you distinctly remember, your mother said you were going to experience the wonders of the world at first hand. Nothing is more wondrous than a meeting between a handful of people that affects an entire population", she said with a paining tone and a flashback racing in her eyes for almost a fraction of a second and then it all faded away behind her smile. He didn't notice. He was too deep in his thoughts, "she gave me a nickname". Once again he just stood there dumbfounded and blushing. Once again, she got the most of him.
"Ooo, I know. Since we have a few hours to spare. Before we head back home, how about we do some sight seeing? This is the city where your parents fell in love after all". He didn't respond, he was still out of it. "She called me Lu", that though buzzing in his head.
A few hours passed, they'd visited all the places she wanted to see and it was time to head back to Zaiti.
"Are you excited to see your parents again... to go back home?",she said whilst nibbling on a salad like a little rabbit.
"You are my home Anne", he said holding her hand, getting lost in her eyes. She leaned in towards him bringing her face closer to his. They kissed, it had finally happened but that kiss led to a deeper understandin of Anne, how she felt deep down inside. As they kissed her heart never paced like his, it stayed the same. No dopamine was released. She was is pain, a lot of pain. Not long after that she fell asleep cuddled on him. Her in his arms, resting on his laps. She was so warm and soft. The thought of someone harming her had always sickened him and that feeling was evoked once more, to make matters worse- he knew who had her in that condition. It was him. She didn't love him by will.
Hours passed before they arrived at the island. From above can see how lush and green the forest that surround the Island is. He woke Anne up because she loved watching the forest. The jet landed on the pathway behind the mansion. Among his jet were multiple other jets and military large copters. There were a few fifty jeeps parked at the port. These served as transport to the mansion. He got out of The year the jet with Anne and the assistance and headed to straight to the jeeps. They drove to the mansion and arrived in the nick of time. The mansion was infested with paparazzi, journalists, reporters and cameramen, analysing and filming every bit of the mansion. Stupefied by the size and complexity of the mansion, so so that they did not notice Luke and the others arriving. How could they? In a synchronised rhythmic dash, they all rushed,in orderly fashion, into the palace. Something was about to begin.Welcome,Ladies and Gentlemen to this prestigious occasion. Before Malcolm could finish his announcement there were 3 distinct shots fired. One shot hit a cameraman. The second was fired by the cameraman the third was fired by Luke's bodyguard at this man, who laid on the floor trying to retrieve what seemed to be a detonator. He died almost instantly. All Luke could do was watch this attempted assisination and execution in high definition. "Rudolph", said Anne trying to keep her composure. "Dad!", screamed Luke as he tried to keep his.
