"Hey"
"Rudie..."
She took him by the hand and pulled him into the house. She gently guided him up the stairs, into her room. He had never been in her room. It was dull and cold. Her room was the attic. Everything was brown and wooden except for her red blanketed bed and white see through curtain. She pulled him towards her bed. She took off his shirt, planting soft kisses on his face and neck. She coiled around him while running her fingers towards his pants and she was about to fully undressed him, he held her by the shoulders.
"Anne, no."
Those words stole the strength she had hastily acquired from her desperation. There was a moment of silent followed by sobbing. Followed by more sobbing. He held her in his arms as she hung on for dear life. They sobbed for a while then there was silence.
"Guess this is goodbye Rudolph"
"I'll find you. I don't care how long it'll take. You are mine, Anne"
"You just don't get it do you? It's them. They own us. All of us. We are nothing to them. Even if you somehow found me...you'll be-"
Before she could finish those words, he kissed her. He held her, one hand rubbing her wrinkly hair. With his head rubbing hers.
"I'll die for you Anne. I love you"
That broke her. He slept over with her that night. When she woke up the next day he was gone and the room became more dull and colder.
