"Everyone step away from the she-wolf and Tyre." Sam yelled at the top of his lungs. After Sam had gotten the mob away from us, I explained to everyone what was going on.

"Saber is with me now people, she is a werewolf, but is unwilling to be. It is as if one of you were a beast. I know that every single one of you would hate it. She is ready to give us any information about the wolves, and willing to look out for them. Her sense and smell is so acute that she would find werewolves from miles away. I'm not asking any of you to trust me; I ask only that you don't kill her for a day."

The crowd disagreed and threw strings of profanities at me. The mob was about ready to start back up, but Sam stepped forward and hushed the crowd.

"I like this no more than you do my friends, but my trust in Tyre is strong. We will hold a debate about the matter in half an hour over by the fire."

"What about the beast?" Someone from the crowd shouted.

"Tyre will watch over her in one of the tents. I ask for no more questions now; all will be brought up in the debate. Go now and carry on with your lives."

After the crowd was away from Saber, I calmed down a lot. Sam came up to me before heading over to the fire.

"You made a terrible choice young man. Don't be surprised if you are on your own by tomorrow."

"Trust me Sam, they will see my logic. Just support me in the debate and all will turn out fine."

Sam glared at me for a few more seconds, but soon went off to get ready for the discussion.

"Are you sure you don't want me to go?" Saber asked me.

"I'm sure, just don't do anything stupid." I said as we started walking to the designated tent. Along the way, everyone we saw shot us icy glares. Some people threw things at us, but still we walked. I noticed Dakota stomp towards us with a mad look upon his face.

"I thought you said yoiu had this one." He growled at me.

"Well of course I have her, she is right here." I commented back.

His look didn't subside until I pushed him away from us.

"Where is all that optimism we know and love?" I rudely asked him as we walked away. When we reached the tent, I opened the flap and let Saber go inside before I did. Soon, the debate started up; it didn't go as smoothly as planned. Sam was steadfast in supporting me, but there was always that 'She ate my baby' comment that kept showing up. The entire time the debate went on Saber looked at me with sad brown eyes. The final verdict was that the she-wolf could stay until the sunset of the next day. Sam came in to tell me what had happened, but I told him I already knew. He turned to Saber and talked to her for a moment.

"Tomorrow is gonna be a rough day for you, don't be surprised if you have to travel at the back of the pack; pun intended."

"I was kinda prepared for that when I showed up here, but thanks for the advice."

Sam shut the tent flap and walked away.

"You get the left side of the tent." I told her.

"What do you mean?"

I smiled at her.

"You really thought you were gonna sleep without a guard?"

She shut up, and fell asleep in a flash. I looked at her one last time before laying my head down. Halfway through the night I woke up steaming hot. I couldn't figure out why until I saw Saber with her head on my chest. I tried to move her, but she had her arms wrapped around my midsection in a tight embrace. The rest of the night she stayed there, and I got a very minimal amount of sleep. When morning came, I was extremely tired, but Saber was up with a smile on her face.

"Best sleep I've ever had." she said to me.

I was going to get back at her with a witty retort, but thats when I saw the wolves.
