I couldn't stop staring at the beautiful she-wolf. I had never thought a werewolf could look so gorgeous, but the nearly dead girl proved otherwise. Her long brown hair cascaded to the ground in a fluster of curls. I didn't even feel scared for one second out of the hours I sat there. Her rapid healing soon took affect, and in what seemed no time at all she woke up. She sat up, stretched, and yawned, which resulted in the blanket falling off of her naked form. I averted my eyes, knowing very well if I looked that I could fall victim to her.
"Don't worry; your meat probably wouldn't taste good anyways." She said as if reading my very thoughts. Her voice was a touch deeper than normal, but so beautiful; I found myself fully mesmerized by everything about her. I took my shirt off and threw it to her.
"Put it on, and wear the blanket in your lap." I said before turning back to her.
"Are you scared of me?" She asked as she put my shirt on.
"The only thing I'm afraid of is falling in love." I responded. As soon as the words came out of my mouth, I felt like an idiot for saying them.
"Then you really aren't scared." She replied with a smile on her face. I ignored the comment.
"How come I'm not feeling the urge to kill you?"
"Not all she-wolves are bad you know."
"What is your name?"
"Saber; what is yours?"
"Tyre." I absentmindedly answered.
"You look disturbed."
"I am. Before you passed out you told me something."
"And what was this something I told you?" she asked concerned.
"You told me to save you."
She sat in silence a moment, and then started crying. I felt the urge to stop her, but decided against it. The last thing I needed was a PMS she-wolf getting mad at me. For another half an hour she cried, but eventually regained her composure.
"I'm tired of being a werewolf. This accident was never asked for. I hate who I am and all the terrible things I have done." She said with a sob. I could tell that Saber was really torn by the way her destiny had turned out.
"You want to restart don't you?"
"Nothing in the world would make me happier."
"Come with me then. My village is also starting over, and you can join us." I told her, outstretching one of my hands.
"How are you able to trust me?"
"Like I said, I feel no urge to kill you."
She thought for a moment and then grabbed my hand.
"What will your village think of me?"
I felt my smile go crooked as I answered.
"I guess there is only one way to find out."
When we got in sight of the village, I had Saber re-check herself. Having a stark naked werewolf that just ate someone's baby walk into camp wasn't a great idea. When Sam saw what I had brought back, his blue eyes grew large. In no time at all, people had gotten up and started running at us.
"Stay behind me, and whatever you do, do not morph." I told her out of the side of my mouth. She gave a quick nod and did as I commanded. It wasn't easy holding off 200 some odd people, but somehow, I managed.
"What have you gotten yourself into boy?" Sam asked me. There was no hiding the edge to his question.
"Trust me. Just get these people away from her, and I'll tell you."
