**D E S C R I P T I O N ; They say backstage is where the real magic happens, where the tech crew and stage managers and set designers get the actors ready to debut across the stage. At Peterson High School for the Performing Arts, however, the backstage is notoriously nicknamed 'Shakespeare's Graveyard', where theatre dreams go to die.
**S U M M A R Y ; After witnessing her older brother sustain a multitude of varying injuries from acting in the school's theatre, Sierra Leighton swore she'd never cross a stage. After witnessing her older brother sustain even more injuries from joining the tech crew as a stage manager, Sierra swore to never enter the school's auditorium altogether. After a string of offenses—including skipping class more than five times—Sierra is given an ultimatum: join the tech crew and assist in putting together the spring play, or be expelled in the middle of her junior year. Naturally, she joins, but Sierra soon realizes that more goes on backstage than the audience could ever imagine.
