The Come Up

Chapter One

Jermaine's POV

I laid up in bed, thinking about life like I did every morning. I rolled over on my side and picked my phone up from the nightstand. I was going to call my girl, but she was already calling me. I pushed the answer button, and smiled.

"Wassup baby girl" I said answering the phone.

"Hey boo, I'm just up thinking about you" she said.

I could tell by the way she was talking that she was smiling. I loved seeing my baby happy. I got up from the bed and walked over to my window pulling the curtains open.

"What are you doing today?" I asked looking out the window at the people shooting dice.

"I was thinking me and you could chill today?" she said, but it came out as a question.

"Arika..." "Never mind J. It's obvious that you have better and more important things to do" Arika said cutting me off.

"You know it's not like that" I said trying to make her happy again.

"Yeah, whatever" she replied before hanging up the phone.

I threw my phone on my bed, and picked out an outfit before I showered. I guess I'll hang with my homies today.

Arika's POV

"Uh oh, what done got Arika's panties in a bunch?" Shyanne asked as I threw my phone down on the bed.

"Let me answer" Briana said perking up on the floor. "You wanted to chill with boo thang today, but and he had something else to do" she answered correctly.

I stared at her from my bed and if looks could kill, she would be dead.

"I guess, I was correct" she said looking away from me.

"Y'all want to do something or go somewhere?" I asked looking at them.

"Yeah, but whatever we do, we have to make sure it's okay for the baby over there" Shyanne said pointing at Brianna.

"Give it 4 months and I'll be legal tender" she replied looking up from her phone.

"Let's go ride around and find something" I said standing up from the bed.

We got in my car and started a journey, to nowhere important.
