Daisy stood in front of the mirror in her dorm as she put her blue hair in low pigtails. Daisy wasn't one to really worry about her appearance. She didn't care about makeup and cute outfits; despite her actually looking cute in her outfits.
"You ready for today?" her roommate asked.
"I guess, Una," Daisy replied. Daisy roomed with Una, daughter of Uma, daughter of Ursula, and Harry, son of Captain Hook.
"Is everything alright, Daisy?" Una asked. Una's parents may have been enemies of the VKs, but after arriving in Auradon, they became allies.
"Yeah," Daisy replied. "It's just...it's nothing. Really. I'm fine."
"Is it that time again?" Una asked.
"It's been eleven years," Daisy said. "I miss her so much. I don't even know if she's alive or not."
"Hey," Una started, "I'm sure wherever she is, she's thinking about you."
"Thanks," Daisy replied.
"Come on. We're gonna be late."
The two girls walked to the school. When she got there, Daisy met up with Maddie, Levi, and Christian. "Hey guys," she said.
"Hey, Daisy," Levi said.
"Hi," Christian," replied.
Maddie stayed quiet. Mostly because she was staring off into space. "Maddie," Daisy said, snapping the girl out of her trance.
"Huh?"
"Are you okay?"
"Yeah, my dad and I got in a fight this morning," Maddie said.
"Oh, so nothing new?" Levi asked.
"Yeah, basically," Maddie said with a peppy voice.
"Hey, Levi," a short, brown-haired girl said as she approached the older boy.
"Jamie?" Levi asked. "What are you doing in the high school wing? You're only in fifth grade."
"Mom made you lunch," she said, handing Levi a paper bag. "She put those little cereal-marshmallow treats you like so much in there."
"Well, tell her I said thank you," Levi said, hugging his little sister.
"I miss you living at home," Jamie said. "So does mom."
"I miss you guys too," Levi said. "I think I'm free after school today. Should I, maybe, stop by?"
"Yes! Please!" Jamie exclaimed.
"Okay," Levi laughed.
"Yay! Bye Levi!" Jamie said as she ran back to the elementary school wing.
"You're so good with your sister," Maddie said. "How did you manage to create such an adorable relationship with her?"
"Well, I mean, she never even got to know who our father was. Without dad, I had to step up for her. I remember that scared look my mother had on her face when Jamie was born. She was so scared to raise us both. In order to relieve her stress of it, I helped out a lot with her."
"I've always wanted a little sister," Daisy said.
"I've always wanted a brother," Maddie said. "What about you, Christian?"
"I'm fine being an only child," Christian replied. "I'm enough for my mother to handle." The four of them laughed together. "Can you believe it's been eleven years since we last saw them?"
"I can't believe it," Maddie said. "I miss them so much."
"Me too," Levi said.
The school bell rang, and all the students began shuffling to their classes. "See you guys after class," Daisy said.
The four friends split ways as they headed to their respective classes. Each of them was glad they had friends who knew exactly what they were going through. Because of this, they were able to help each other get through even the most difficult times.
Short chapter, but I promise the next ones will be longer and the story will start to begin.
