It had been a long drive, but the group had finally reached the dwarf mine. They exited the car, and Doug led them towards the entrance.

"Okay," he spoke, "You just enter here, and you should enter the catacombs after a few minutes of walking."

"How long is a few minutes exactly?" Christian asked.

"I'm not exactly sure," Doug replied. "I've never been in the catacombs myself. I do know that Evie said that the time between the catacombs and the mine isn't long at all." The four teens nodded their heads. Doug then handed Daisy a backpack. "In there are snacks and drinks."

"How come I can't carry the snack bag?" Levi asked.

"Because you would eat all of them in one sitting," Lonnie explained.

"Eh, I guess you're right."

"Here," Lonnie said, "you can hold the flashlight. It's dark in there, so you're going to have to use this."

"And please, please, please be careful in there," Jane said.

"Mom, we'll be fine."

"Don't worry Mrs. De Vil. We'll be fine," Maddie replied.

"I know you four will," Jane said.

"Mom, are you crying?" Christian asked.

"Maybe a little," Jane said, wiping the tears from her eyes. "I just know that if you guys succeed in this, I will get Carlos back."

The teens smiled warmly. This was really happening. They were really getting their parents back. Maybe. They knew one thing for sure: this was a risk worth taking. They'd do anything to get their parents back.

They all turned to face the mine. "It's now or never," Madison said. With that being said, the four teens entered the mine.

"You sure they're going to be okay?" Jane asked as they watched the four teens disappear in the darkness.

"They are the children of Mal, Evie, Jay, and Carlos," Doug said. "They can handle anything."

The four teens continued to go deeper and deeper into the mine. After the mine tracks were no longer visible, they knew they had officially entered the catacombs. The caves were wet and musty. The smell wasn't too pleasant either. That didn't stop them, however. They were confident to not go back until they found their parents.

Water droplets would leak through the top of the cave. "Well, at least we know we're past Auradon," Levi said.

"How do we know when we reach the Isle?" Christians asked.

"I'm gonna go out on a limb and assume when the little water droplets aren't there anymore," Daisy replied.

"We've been walking for like, what, three hours?"

"More like thirty minutes," Madison said, a little annoyed.

The teens remained quiet for a bit. No one really knew what to say. "You okay?" Levi asked Daisy, who seemed to be a little distressed.

"It's just...are-are the walls closing in or something?" Daisy asked, hugging herself a little.

"Are...are you claustrophobic?" Levi asked.

"Maybe a little," Daisy said. "Not really a good thing when you have a lot of cousins. Last Christmas, it was so crowded that I thought I was gonna pass out."

"Don't worry. You'll be fine. I'll be here to protect you," Levi said, putting his arm around the blue-haired girl.

Daisy blushed. "Heh, thanks." She was silent once more until a thought entered her mind. "What if our parents don't remember us?"
