Chiamaka

"Okammelu."

"Okammelu."

"Okammelu."

On hearing her shout my name the third time, I knew I was busted.

With doubtful confidence, I walked back inside school with a genuine smile on my face.

"Amaka, didn't you hear me shouting your name?" The vice principal questioned me with a scrutinizing gaze.

Even though I had been in Success College for five years and I was currently in SS2, it was still a prominent habit for me to observe people repeatedly.

After taking a quick glance at the noisy and lively scene around me; I rested my gaze on Mrs Patrick, who could easily be mistaken as a goddess.

Her tall, curvy physique went in breathtaking sync with her creamy-ebony skin.

Her full lips, straight nose, brown locks were very appealing especially her black orbs which shone like the flawless skin of a day-old black panther.

"Good morning Mrs Patrick, you look lovely as always." I couldn't help adding that compliment to save my skin but it was actually the truth.

"Good morning to you too, why are you coming to school around this time?"

My first instinct was to lie but then; I laughed and then lied.

"Mrs Patrick, there was serious traffic in my area and trust me; i'm 'not' lieing." I backed it up with my best puppy dog eyes.

"Ma, don't mind this pretty liar. She lives in an estate on the next street, so there is hardly any traffic; especially in the morning."

I turned to face the source of the voice and couldn't help blushing like a person caught stealing meat from the pot red-handed.

"Ma, don't tell me you believe him." I ask, hope and fear laced in my tone of speech.

Mrs Patrick simply looks anywhere but me, which probes laughter from him.

"Amaka, just move to the assembly." Mrs Patrick utters with a bored expression on her face.

With what I think is a perfect salute; i make my way to my class row which attracted majority of the school's attention, including the teachers.

It was actually not a new thing to me; because I was pretty popular, or should I say- pretty and popular.

To a close observer, I could be described as a fair beauty. My moderate boobs, fat ass, curvy hips and fair butter-cream skin usually made a lot of people give me second glances or stares.

The fact that I had vibrant eyes, full lips and braided, curly hair brought more attention to me, sometimes negative and sometimes positive.
